Official Buffs vs. UCLA Game Thread

These are the games we have lost again and again and again. So nice to see us winning these games. Experience and just a damn salty defense is making the difference this year. Can you believe we won because of our special teams? JMFL is just a stud. I have a big man crush going on right now with him.

Just posted similar in chat.

Winning games when everything is going wrong is a big step for a team.

UCLA is a great collection of athletes who make up a piss-poor football team.

McKinley is a ****ing stud.

I doubt we'll see that kind of athlete defensively the rest of this month, anyway.

Some positives vs Ucla:

The defense was again stellar overall
Defense did not drop off after losing Gilbert
Won the close game
Special Teams sealed a game
Plenty of coaching moments for next game

This is perfect. The team came out over-hyped, thinking they were the **** and almost lost it for themselves. The coaches will use this big time. Arizona is in trouble. And you have to be able to win a couple games a year "ugly" in college football.

Gawd that was awful! Everything felt whacky. From the play to the crowd. Just a weird, out of whack night. BUT WE WON!

Good thing is the coaches have a few extra days to knock the rust off and fix the mistakes. Especially easier after a win.

Our defense looks meh
didn't follow this thread and reading this the morning after. I know you don't usually talk out of your ass about real football topics, so I'll be interested to see what was going on at the :47 mark of the game that provoked this. My (admittedly impaired) memory of the D last night was superb performance all the way around.

agree. just worried we played like that because of the long lay off? now we have another long lay off and travel.

Heh. Defense has had the best stretch of games for cu since 1991. They don't do it with phenomenal athleticism, but they give up so little

Haha yes, this was an early on post before they had settled in. They had a miscommunication that gave up the TD, had given up a few first downs, and were being penalized left and right. Obviously the entire performance was superb and they won us a second straight game.

Larry Scott in attendance must've been thinking why it wasn't on PAC network instead so nobody would see it. Props to student section. Offense was a hot mess. We had one drive in the red zone 7 plays for 15 yards, that's hard to do. Ucla has a decent defense, ours is much better. Sefo needs to stop rolling out into pressure, and be accurate enough to throw to guys that are not wide open. Play calling was baffling at times, come out with all passes? Thank goodness for Oliver. Win and move on. I expect a much better effort vs AZ.

As a Clemson fan, I can say "Welcome to my 2016"

WWS nonstop
this is a sucking season for Clemson!?!?!! you guys win the ACC a couple times and start getting unrealistic expectations here.

the only game you guys looked bad to me was State. You curb stomped GIT and BC and chalked very respectable wins against Auburn, Louisville and FSU. Watson's throwing too much to not have picks, but it's working for you.

See 'ya in Orlando!
