Why are they playing in a baseball stadium? So stupid.
WTF? The Bears played a Wrigley for years and it was never an issue.
OK, this is about as hokey as it gets. If you watch the video, the announcer summed it perfectly by asking, "will the defensive linemen also have to count to 5-Mississippi before rushing the passer?"
Dick Butkis is laughing at those pussies.
Stupidest thing ever....all this for press or money??? Get back to playing some damn football
They've added interior seating since. This is hilarious, best gameday ever.
so how does this work for turnovers such as pick6's?
I was wondering the same thing about punts - do they switch ends before or after the kick? It really should be before, since by far the most likely person to take the ball to the hizzouse is the returner. But if the kicking team plans to fake they should probably keep going west...
Or punt returns for TDs? Makes sense since they are momentum changers just like homeruns are!
Well the other touchdown area is still there, there is just a wall at the back of it. If there is a fumble, int, punt, or kick return, I'm sure the guy will be smart enough to stop before running into the wall. The problem with the wall comes in when the offense is in the red zone and has routes that go near the back of the endzone. There isn't much room in the back.
They didn't say, but those will end up being scored into the "unused" end zone. There's no way around that. I guess for punts they will switch ends before the punt occurs, but then what if the punting team decides on a fake punt? Maybe they'll install a rule for this game like no fake punts and no fumbles or picks can be returned.
Can't wait to see the kickoff guys trying to put them in the stands...
wreaks of arena football...
Brilliant point. This could have been copied from a truly great football mind... :smile2:
Why not play 6 man half-field football like that bizarre half court Iowa girls BB?
This is yet another reason to keep the games out of the NFL and baseball stadiums and leave them on campus where they belong!!!!!!!
Jesus. Quit the gimmicks and play the damn game as it was supposed to. Same with that outdoor hockey bullsh*t. Stop going Bill Veeck to get the nation interested in something it's not.
urbanabuff will somehow spin this into an awesome idea.
how awful would it be to have end zone seats. On the wrong end of the field.
Perhaps it's time for a pro six man football league to be established and played at such baseball stadiums. The six-man football fields are smaller than the actual eight or 11-man football fields.
Guys, this isn't that big of a deal. The other endzone and goalpost are still there, so a returned int or punt can still be scored to the other endzone. The concern is a player hitting the wall, say, during a catch in the back of the endzone.
That being said, you'd think someone would have addressed this prior to the game being scheduled there.
Why not just make the field 95 yards? Problem solved. :smile2:
That's because it's the Big 10(11)(12), and everything they do is awesome and without flaw.
throw it back throw it back!!
dumbest thing ever.
I just heard the Buffs and Nebraska game will now be held at the Pepsi Center. They cannot move the basketball hoops though so if the kicker can make a "bucket" off a kickoff that team will be rewarded 4 points.
We used to play tackle FB in the street. A parked station wagon was the endzone marker. I thought we were small time, but turns out, we were "this close" to being Big 10 (11) (12) caliber FB.
actually that is NFL level
Saw one of the local sports talk shows suggesting CU and CSU should play in Coors field the other day. Stupidist idea ever!
