Sept. 8, 2018 CU @ kNU

I'm enjoying comnents in this thread from CU fans whos' football team has a little over .345 win / loss record in the last 5 year and 10 year spans. Bagging on a tream with over a .657 W/L record in the same time frames is pathetic.

Carry on Buff fans.

Oh, one more thing. What is the best drink for CU fans for filling up piss balloons . Be sure to use clear balloons. Memorial Stadium enforces a hard core clear bag policy.

A Nebraska fan living in the past? Say it ain't so!

Those teams play in different leagues! From my POV, what you're saying is like trying to say someone they can't root for the Buffs and the Broncos!
No... The Buffs and Broncos will never play each other obviously. Being ya know, that they are in the NFL and the Buffs are in the NCAA. But what happens if they schedule each other for an OOC game? Or they make it to an at large bowl and play each other? You just say "oh well guess it's a win win situation for me today, better get the beers goin, I don't care about the outcome here." It's not the same as cheering for a college team and an NFL team. Not even remotely.

It's OK to have a team from your home state and a team from your new state that you cheer for simultaneously.

I guess there is some kind of weird connection to Wisconsin for Hokie, so there's that, too.

interesting perspective.

If the NCAA sanctioned the playoffs, acknowledging the playoff winner as the league champion, I think you'd have a point. if the bowl games were anything more than glorified scrimmages to practice for the next season, I think you'd have a point.

Like it not, we are still left with with separate conferences running their own leagues, each with their own champion, playing by their own rules which don't consider non-conference games to be a factor in deciding the overall champion. Under the current system, there is no way any of "my" three college teams could play each other in a football game that was relevant to the championship awarded by their respective leagues, so I don't see a conflict of interest.

if you're someone who believes the NCAA runs a singular football league and names a champion of that league, I can understand the confusion.

I love that Surveyor still cares. Can't quit us; which is why he's sticking around in desperation to try to convince us he's still relevant.

Poor Surveyor. He is stuck in 1995. He doesn’t understand why the world around him has changed.

He doesn’t understand why no one is impressed that he was the first in his trailer park to get Netscape Navigator on his fancy Gateway 2000 Pentium computer. His mom worked so long and hard blowing truckers at the truck wash near Darr to scrape together the money to get him that computer.

He was going places. He was going to be a somebody. But now he looks back on his life as he stuffs another hot pocket dipped in Dorthy Lynch dressing in his meth-riddled mouth and wonders what all went so wrong.

He spends his days sitting in his mom’s basement alternating between watching porn, snorting oxy, crying, dreaming of the year that they went on a vacation the Estes Park and most importantly, stalking Allbuffs. “One day they will appreciate and understand me,” he tells himself, as he slugs down some cherry koolaid mixed with robitussin. “One day they will know how I was right all along. “Go Big Red”, he whimpers.

This. post of the year right here

Hopefully we get a RB that will step up, Refill the OL, replace all those WR, and half our DL again - before we go to the korn maize

The real reason he's here is that Husker boards are depressing enough to come with suicide warnings these days. Seriously take some time out of your day and enjoy this stuff.

Just reading through some of the names on their new coach rumor thread.... A few of my favorites... Chris Peterson, Tom Herman, Clay Helton, and Bob Stoops.

A few posters actually stay in reality and suggest: Frost, Mullen, Durkin, Matt Canada, Aranda, and Brohm... But then the same posters believe David Shaw is candidate 1 A,B, and C.

Pretty bipolar place. 50% of them seem to believe they're still a top 5 destination. 50% are all woe is me.

kNU is now in that death spiral that can only come from hubris. Thoroughly convinced in their athletic, academic and moral superiority, despite evidence to the contrary, average niblet fan demands excellence on a level equaling their delusion. No one can match that. Qualified AD and HC candidates steer clear of the forbidden zone, and only incompetents and charlatans sign on the dotted line. Over time, the results get worse and worse as the competent avoid the oncoming cataclysm wrought by the fantastic demands of the polyester faithful...implosion and misery follow.

Some people have the gift to write. I do not. You, sir, absolutely do.

Can I just say how thrilled I am that on next year's schedule, game 2 is going to completely dominate the pre-season conversation, as opposed to whoever it is we play in game 1?
The team we play in game 1 will be more highly thought of nationally. We shouldn't overlook them.
