BOULDER - The No. 68 University of Colorado women’s tennis team, playing its second match this weekend, defeated their old Big 12 rival the No. 75 University of Kansas Jayhawks, 4-2 Sunday afternoon at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center.
It was the fourth match against a ranked opponent for the Buffaloes this season, and the win moves their record against ranked opponents to 3-1 with their overall record for the season improving to 8-1. The loss drops Kansas to 4-6 and the Jayhawks have now lost six of their last eight matches to the Buffs.
“For these guys to come out this weekend and go 2-0 with the adversities we had was unbelievable,” said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally.
