As discussed in other threads, why would Tuberville leave Auburn for a vastly inferiror position at A&M? Auburn can compete in an arms race, too.
Fran's most definitely out, and weirder things have happened, but I just can't see Tuberville taking that kind of step down. Although, I'd love to have tubsie out of Auburn.
:yeahthat:Tuberville is probably encouraging the rumors--what better way to get yourself a bump?

What they don't understand is that Fran probably knew at the time he jumped that he couldn't sustain what he had going in Bama and voluntarily jumped to an inferior program in hopes of riches, lower expectations and luck.
I think they are believing that since Fran jumped from Bama to 3rd in the South other SEC coaches will be willing to also. I could be off, but I think when Fran took the job at bama, it was not yet known that they would soon be facing sanctions from violations that occurred under Dubose. When he left to aTm, it was after the sactions had surfaced, thus making aTm look better than it might otherwise be to a bama coach in good standing with the base.
I agree, and Fran also had some emotional ties to aggy and the state of Texas that Tuberville simply doesn't have.
Tommy's been treated like crap more than once at Auburn by the administration and with rumors that Petrino wants back in college it could put some more heat on Tuberville in Auburn.
I'm not sure I like the prospect of having to face off v. Tubes two of every four years as a Buff fan. He just might make those underachiveing Aggies a real threat.
A lot of us said the same thing about Fran when he came to A&M. Fran was considered one of the best coaches in the country when he came to A&M. I'm not sure what happened there.
The long and short of it is that we're going up against good coaches every week in the Big 12. Tuberville isn't any better than Stoops or Brown.
Good points but I have to disagree with you on Brown...he can recruit and is a good coach but he's probably middle of the pack in the Big 12.
Exactly, how many times has Brown lived up to expectations or team ability without Radio at QB?

Fran is not nearly the coach Tuberville is. Tuberville has built Auburn into a consistent SEC power while Fran lived off of two decent years at Bama and some good years at smaller schools.
aggy never disappoints. They are throwing out Spurrier's name and some act like they are too good to take Tuberville. Hilarious.
Oh Loard.
You'll appreciate this quote from Texags this morning:
"hopefully you are right and Tuberville stays in bama with all his hick friends"
Apparently Collie Station is downright cosmopolitan.
Well, they do have Starbucks.:rofl::rofl::rofl:
School is claiming reports are wrong...

The ESPN report is almost word for word what has been circulating on the A&M message boards. Makes me wonder if that is the ESPN source - Internet Rumors.
I believe he is gone but I doubt they will get him out for $2 Million. He has a contract and it will be tough to prove breach based upon selling his newsletter.
