benson and bohn.
after all the program-killing moves made, a move to the p10 would completely re-energize the fan base. booster wallets will open. folks will care again.
look at all the threads on this subject on all the boards...
bohn and benson will come off looking like geniuses if they oversee a move. benson can talk about our academic alignment and research and not having to spend any tax $ on sports and all that stuff. bohn can talk about cultural fit and recruiting and financial independence and all that.
they'll buy themselves a ton of goodwill. and then when they do whack hawkins (which i think is inevitable), they'll have more ramp than they would otherwise have had without a move.
when politicians win if a certain course of action is taken, that course of action becomes much more probable.
if we get an invite and can work out the money issues (which i think can be done), i think this is going to happen. there will be what we call "deal momentum"-- when you are putting a big deal together and it gets on the rails, it is really hard to derail it because it takes on a life of its own. that will happen here, i predict.
now, we just need that invitation.
