DJ Wilhelm, a standout high school kicker who red-shirted his freshman year at the University of Northern Iowa, has announced he plans to transfer to the University of Colorado next school year.
He explained that the opportunity to possibly play in Boulder came about through his kicking coach, Matt Thompson, who lives just minutes from the U of C campus. Wilhelm met Thompson as a high school kicker attending a competition in Denver.
“He was pretty much in love with my ability and we have continued to work together for more than two years now,” said Wilhelm. “He knew that UNI was my best option at the time, but I told him to keep me in mind for programs that can help me achieve my dream.”

In other news, former Colorado prep (Cherokee Trail) and Rice punter Mark Brundage may be coming home. He has graduated, has a year of eligibility left, and is looking at CU's graduate school of engineering. If he's accepted, he would be immediately eligible for the 2011 season.

Adam posted about this on the Rivals board several days ago. No follow-up yet on whether it is happening for sure.
I'll work on profiles for both after I've put the kid to bed.
