Both Cody and Tyler bring different qualities to the job. Cody is a natural leader and football smart. Tyler is faster and a better arm. I think Tyler is a better choice because he throws the deep ball much better. Our running game will never be effective if opposing safeties are allowed to pinch up and play in run support. Quick passing routs won’t work unless Cody or Tyler start showing a consistent ability to hit people in stride. All that being said, this staff has shown they are afraid of the big Hawk so; I think Cody is named starter with a lot of Tyler in special packages. During the season Tyler takes over the top QB spot. Don’t be surprised to see Evans sneak in at the end, if Tyler or Cody gets hurt early in the season. He has a stronger arm then both Cody and Tyler and we haven’t seen him with the first team line to protect him. P.S. If Papa Hawkins starts winning and recruiting well again, then baby bird will make one hell of an assistant coach for CU.
