we offered hood, just sayin.
The article says lots of teams offered Hood initially and then backed off when they found out his background. I'm guessing we were one of those teams because it only specifically names 3-4 teams.

it has and does. I believe there are a couple of CU football players on the current roster that have transgressions similiar to these while members of the CU football team, not as recruits that haven't set foot on any campus.....
You're making an illogical point. If they are already on your team - you didn't have previous conduct to go on when recruited, you have no choice but to deal with it. To take on a likely problem is another story. In the Tennessee's kid's case, however, the fault wasn't personal participation, but not stopping an older relative. But in OU's case, this is a huge red flag...
how do you know there wasnt previous conduct when the kid was recruited?
I know for a fact, and several posters here tout how Hawkins out-recruited Stoops and Venables for a certain linebacker on CU's roster, maybe he is off now, that OU dropped recruiting when it was determined the kid would be a huge risk to the football program.
I'm not gonna take the high road or anything, UBT, but in the hypothetical you present, the facts don't stack up.
All evidence, including an in-house from Coach Venables in January, suggests that OU recruited Katoa to the very end.

puuuuuuulease. risks didn't stop stoops with this guy. I know he got the boot but he still was recruited
YouTube - Josh Jarboe's Rap cost him his scholarship at OU
yes he did.... thats true. What I was told by people very close to the OU program, it wasn't his decision to go to CU that made OU pull their scholly offer, rather Katoa himself. They wont tell me what made Stoops and Venables change their minds at the last hour other than it had to do with Katoa himself. It could be the person who told me doesnt even know themselves.
If I am not mistaken, didnt Katoa have a bit of a troubled past in high school?
Yes, Katoa had a bit of a troubled past in his youth, pretty much like most of the sooners... Whatever.
He did have a troubled past, and also trouble with grades. Two issues that raised their heads at CU.
There's two possible reasons you'd post this info.
1. To suggest that Coach Stoops would withold a scholarship based on a kid's character. If the info is true, then I concede your point.
2. To imply that Coach Hawk did not in fact out-recruit the OU staff for this one kid. To that point I'd disagree. The OU staff (I believe Stoops was in on the in-home as well, but not positive) continued to pursue the kid after he committed to CU. Of course, nothing's official until he signs, but he was a Buff in his mind before (if) OU quit on him.
So I take it you have no reservations about this kid coming to OU, ubt?
Point #1, see Jarobe(video chipwich posted). Stoops did pull/withhold the scholly before the kid even practiced for OU, bit was on campus.
point #2, Stoops does not quit trying to recruit players they really want, 2 wr, one from this year and the kid that is at Alabama last year (Jones??). Stoops and his staff stayed after them up to the last minute when they signed LOI to another school. From my understanding, and I am not on the OU recruiting staff and what I heard was 2nd hand, even after Katoa orally committed to CU, there were still visits and such, then for some reason OU just stopped all contact.... I'm not saying had they not, Katoa would have come to OU, but rather and remember this was told to me, that they stopped recruiting him based on information that they (OU staff) discovered that made it not a favorable deciesin to keep recruiting him.
In the case of Jarboe, it was my understanding the University leadership told Coach Stoops that Jarboe would not be a Sooner. No?
