For those who have a Scout subscription, there's a very telling article where Kendrick Celestine comes clean in telling all that he didn't work hard the first time at CU and didn't bother to learn the plays.....
It's widely known that this was Josh Smith's MO here at CU as well. The reality is that these two guys were the only ATHLETIC guys at WR when they got here and both were given significant playing time as true freshmen, because they flat out had some speed and ability that the bevy of walkons at WR didn't possess.
I don't think it takes a leap to question why Simmons wasn't seeing the field this year either. It's been painful, but there is no doubt that there is now plenty of competition at this position and Celestine, Simmons and Clemons plus the two redshirts (Darden, Ussery) will keep this from being an issue again.
