IMG/Madden all-tourney team (7-on-7 Offense (April 18):

Receiver, Covina (Calif.) Charter Oak
Another prospect who jumped on to the map with a good weekend, was the main reason BBT upset B2G's Five Stars in pool play.

Scout Team Q&A (April 30):

  1. Which offensive player from your region, without an FBS offer, are you anticipating will receive one during the evaluation period?

Scott Kennedy (Director of Scouting): Wide receiver Bryce Bobo (6'3/195) of Covina (Calif.) Charter Oak is a productive player with good size and natural ability. He's at a school that doesn't get a ton of exposure, but we saw him on Prepzone last year against Upland, and he had a very good game and should garner more attention this spring.

Biggins Article (May 8):

Bryce Bobo had his coming out part at the IMG/Madden 7 on in Redondo a few weeks ago and was even more impressive at the Passing Down SoCal Regional Championship on Sunday. He’s a silky smooth route runner with soft hands and at 6-3, he can go up and get it and has great body control.
On the recruiting front, Bobo is flying way below the radar and is still waiting for his first scholarship offer to roll in.

Commitment to the Buffs first reported by BuffScoop and announced publicly on Facebook.

From the description of this guy sounds like he was under the radar b/c of who he plays for. He has great height-seems like we are getting a lot of tall receivers. No word on his speed.

Thoughts on his video: Great hands, nice YAC, seems like good+ speed, also physical receiver and potential to be a good blocker. Could see him become a TE if he bulked up a lot but I'd be happy with him as WR.

Welcome to the BUFFS!

Welcome! I love the name. It reminds me of Albert Bandura's Bobo Doll Experiment:

New Rivals article on Bobo's commitment:

"Colorado started showing interest in me during the first couple games of my junior season and they offered me on June 2. It clicked for me like two days before I accepted the offer. I just feel like their team is based on becoming a family and trying to show the Pac-12 that they belong and that is kind of how it is at my high school so it felt like if I went there, I would feel at home and fit in."

Welcome Bryce, and congrats!

Watching his video, he looks a little like Jeff Thomas to me. He's big, and a long-strider who can get deep, but looks like he can excel on the short and intermediate routes, where he can use his YAC ability. He has the potential to become a red-zone weapon, too, with the way he goes up to get the ball.

I like this guy too. They did their time and were loyal Buffs but my comfort level with a guy like this is way higher than living through the years where several of our key WR's were walk-ons .

Love that he has some time to add some weight to that height before he gets here. If he can add about 25lbs and still run with that kind of deceptive speed he would be a great WR. Welcome to the Black and Gold Bryce, cant wait to have you out here

Bobo also had an offer from Idaho and he was receiving interest from Utah, Wisconsin, Wyoming, San Diego State, San Jose State, Stony Brook, South Florida, Florida International and Nevada.

We've been watching him for a while. This was not a recent find.

Under the radar... Maybe now Bryce will get a 3* rating because of his commitment. Hell, even if he were a 4* commitment, Bryce would now get a 3* rating because of his commitment. If the staff has followed him for the past year and was willing to extend an offer, that is good enough for me. Welome to our family Bryce Bobo the Buff.

We should really stop saying things like this.

No it's false. Their is no conspiracy against CU athletics.
It's not CU, it's any non-elite program. Guys who are 4 star borderline 5 star will always get the bump up if they commit to Alabama or USC. If somebody's a 4 star borderline 3 star, they'll get demoted if they commit to a lower BCS program or a non BCS program. Really doesn't matter though, the player is the player.

There is no conspiracy against ANY program.
