First of all, getting Awuzie and Thompson today is good news. The depth chart in the secondary has improved dramatically with these last two classes. Both Embree and MacIntyre have seriously upgraded the speed and athleticism back there. You hear Nik and I harp on class balance a lot because it is so important. These last two classes allow the coaches to be much more picky going forward as they evaluate prospects.
Beyond that, this is a class that will be all about development. I doubt we will see too many out of this group play as true freshmen, which is not a bad thing. We really need to redshirt at a lot of positions to build depth. We are likely to see several of these players end up in different positions.
Overall, hard to get a good read on many players in this class and we all know what type of disaster MacIntyre walked into.
Going into the next class, expect a heavy dose of linemen on both sides of the ball. Also should see running backs and linebackers as priorities.
