Jim Leavitt hired as new Colorado DC

We need good defense now. Age is not an issue.

The last thing I ever worry about is whether a guy is likely to still be coaching the Buffs in 10 years. Even 5 or 3, for that matter. The nature of the profession is that you look at 2-year (sometimes 1-year) windows.

IMHO CU punched way above it's weight class on this one. For where we are and where we have been, this is a great hire. Maybe not a home run, but at the very least a triple. I guess that HCMM and RG knew what they were doing, after all. And to keep it so quiet, without so much as a peep until today demonstrates enormous discipline and administrative competence. Well done and Go Buffs!

Awesome hire. In fact, I would say this is a better hire than Gibbs would have been, IMO. Nice work, Mac!

The only reason I brought up age is my concern that he might be Baer like and lose fire relatively quickly
Living in the SE(sorta) I've seen quite a few USF games on TV. This guy coaches with a lot of passion. I'm not worried about that fire going out anytime soon.

Great hire, but I can't help but wonder the fate of, say, Jay Jay Wilson, if this had been known earlier.

Great hires today and we now have no excuses. We are getting some D Lineman back/JUCO that give us some depth, a passionate D Coordinator with recruiting ties in TX and FL, a solid DB coach to boot. I feel the momentum building and I am starting to mix up the Kool Aid :wow:

Could this light a fire under Mac's ass? If he underperforms we have a head coaching option right next to him?
