Official Oregon Ducks (2-2) @ Colorado Buffaloes(3-1) Game Day Thread

Man, instead of going out tough and giving the defending conference champs a game... we punted, let them score, and went out with a whimper. No toughness on this team.

I don't know that Mac is the answer, although I don't have the hate for him a lot of people do, but I'm not sure why everyone is thinks Leavitt is the obviously better. Oregon lined up and ran it down our throats in the second half. We had no answer.

Well it was a stressful game for me up until the end, but I never imagined the walk-on sophomore would bail out the Ducks. I mean I suppose its a nice advantage to have Royce Freeman to just pound it up the middle. I am not sure what to take away from this game outside of the fact that neither of our teams are winning the Pac-12 this year.

Honestly I'm done. 10+ years of crappy Saturdays and I'm just over it. I have non refundable to AZ for next game and then I give up. I can't take the anger watching ****ty football.

Leavitt has had proven at the BCS level. And you can't blame him for the defense, he's been here only a few months, hasn't had a chance to recruit his players, and even despite these facts, he has markedly improved the defense. Noone was expecting him to take a 100th ranked defense and turn them into an elite unit his first year, he's done well with what he has

We could have had this one if only we could have capitalized. When we actually did what we supposed to, we dominated but that was far and few between. The turning point was that penalty against the coach. We were not composed from that point forward. Also Sefo had tons of chances but barring a series or two he could not hit a broadside of a barn. We need better players but also a coach who can get his team fired up and roaring to go. We needed establish ourselves early and instead we shot ourselves in the foot and almost managed to pull a rabbit out of hat until the halfway through the 3rd.

Another blown chance. Oregon is poor. This was yet another huge opportunity to finally make a statement that we can win in the Pac by beating this 6-7 win Duck squad in Folsom. Instead, once again, CU seems happy with getting their "played them close for a half" participation ribbon and orange slices. We hear all the usual offseason talk about how close losses aren't acceptable anymore, yet our actions clearly show they are. We were happy we were 17-17 and called it a night...any doubt of that was erased when we punted down 14. I don't know what the **** we do before the start of games and at halftime, but it must involve Toby Neinas playing a harp to get us fired up. Time and time again in the 1st and 3rd quarter we sit back and get **** on by our opponent. We're too soft to deliver the first punch, apparently. In Tempe next week we'll likely do the same thing: fall down 17-0 before we can blink, then make it 20-14 at half before they come out after halftime and blow it open. The close losses deal is over with. And tonight didn't even end up being a close loss. Nothing is acceptable except Pac12 conference wins. Our OL is a shambles, our QB is not going to improve, and we have some guys who should be playing for Idaho and UTEP running around on defense. But it's year 3. There's been 3 years to work towards that not being the situation.

I don't think MM is a bad coach nor a bad gameday coach. But he is a terrible recruiter (or a terrible judge of talent), and that's what's getting us killed. We have the talent to beat FCS teams and compete with G5 teams - not compete with P5 teams.

I respectfully point you to our decision to punt with 7 minutes to go and a 2 td deficit and a gassed defense. Any coach that does that has no clue how to manage a game.

But he is also a terrible recruiter, so there's that.

Pretty much what I expected. Our defense can't stop a bunch of old ladies. As a matter of fact, an old lady in orthopedic shoes could go outside on us. Sefo just cannot carry his team to a big win. Mac is not a P5 level coach. Never will be. Rick George must be beginning to see that.

I'm kinda laughing at the "I told you so" hype posts for Gamboa during fall camp

That third and short play was brutal. Reverse and there is probably no other player on the roster I would want out there other than Thompson (or chido) and he just couldn't make the tackle. Nothing leavitt can really do about that one. Honestly the big issue is getting pressure. We can all sit here and say that Gamboa and the linebackers are too slow but there were so many plays where we gave way to much time and a running back would slip out and make a catch. There are not many linebackers in this league that can stay with players that have the speed of the Oregon backs. I'm not saying that the line backing crew is satisfying what we need to compete but there were a lot of factors contributing to them getting exposed tonight.

I was thinking the same thing last night. Why do I keep watching and get so worked up over this crap.
