NCAA Tournament General Thread

PAC has been bad but is far from the only power league to have an unpleasant opening round.

So many things can go wrong. Get a couple injuries, take a long trip to play a team that is in their own time zone or even came in on a bus instead of a plane. Big issue is simply getting a bad match-up. Play a team that has a player or two that you don't match up with well.

All parts of the reason why the tourney is such a draw for sports fans, you know that every year there are going to be upsets in the opening round, There is always the David and Goliath and the team that was the 4th-6th in their league that beats somebody who was a top 25.

PAC isn't doing anything that just about every power conference hasn't done once or twice in recent years. B1G looks to be doing it this year as well and they have had some epic tourney failures, they still get multiple teams every year.

This is such incredible insight in this post.

just replying to those earlier in who assume that because a team from the PAC (or other power conference) loses that automatically the conference must suck that year.

There are so many upsets this year that it makes me question the Top 20 rankings altogether.

March Madness is a great event. Huge moneymaker because of the unpredictability and the Cinderellas but as a way of determining the best team of the year I don't buy it. It isn't going to change because it makes way to much money but it has a lot more to do with who gets lucky, who gets the right draw, who gets hot, than who is the best team of the year.

They should just take a poll at the end of the season.

What's your point?

It's "hatred" to say what 75% of Buff fans are also saying? The Pac 12 showing in this BBall tournament has been abysmal. Massive overseeding.
More in reference to lumping football and basketball together. Your disdain is palpable.

Football was down this past year. Compare the number of Pac 12 football teams in either of the Top 20 polls to the number of teams from the other other major conferences.

I'd rather that CU was in the B1G West, playing Neb, Wisco, Iowa, Northwestern, etc. Just a preference. I don't have to like the Pac 12 to like the Buffs.

BTW, CRAZY half court shot from the UNI guy. WOW.

Down goes Texas. The two programs I dislike most, based on our dealings in the Big XII, are Texas and Baylor. I hate both of those teams more than national socialism.

some people also like to play Chutes and Ladders. It's a choice they make.

Do Wichita St fans feel that this is sort of a best chance for a few seasons? You have some seniors that have seemingly played forever for you guys and done pretty well. I have no clue what your underclassmen are like - what's your outlook for the next few seasons? Best of luck to you guys.

The UNI game was so exciting to watch! A three pointer at the buzzer to win!

Earlier in the day, Iowa won in OT at the buzzer.

Somehow, all three Iowa schools are still in the tourney.
