What looks good to you guys?
What scares you because we're depending too much on guys returning from injury/suspension or newcomers?
What positions do you see as a liability no matter what?
Should CU still be working the transfer and JUCO markets for any position?

Interesting to see Ento as second string. It sounded like Fields, Ross, and Ento were our main receiving threats through Spring.

Everything else looks as expected except for QB really. Nice to see Tupou and Gillam slated as starters.

And that's really 3rd string once Winfree gets here, I'd guess.

Thoughts:

Unless he was hurt, I think we can right off Eddie Lopez as a bust.
A little disappointed Keeney has moved up the TE depth chart. I think we know Irwin's ceiling.
Tyler Hennington at OLB, interesting?
I really, really hope White can find a way to make it back on the team. DB is terrifying.

On the injured guys, I'm surprised to see both Henington and Talianko still on the depth chart and moved from the Injured list. My bet was that both would medically retire/ graduate.

And I'd love to get White back.

Wasn't Bobo injured during the second half of spring?

I was really surprised to see Huckins as the backup center and see Lynott exclusively at guard.

Starting D looks better than we've had in a while, but quality depth is questionable, at best, at a lot of the positions. Need to stay healthy.

Offense looks downright depressing.
-Possible exception of WR (assuming some of the newcomers are as good as advertised).
-RB looks average at best to me. Could be above average if Bisharat is as good or better than advertised. All our current guys look like good depth pieces to me (not starters).
-OL looks like a big ? - Could be okay, could be bad.
-QB is just plain bad without Webb. Sefo is average, but there is little if anything behind him (not down on Montez, but it looks like he is just not ready yet).

It's gloomy out today, so maybe that's making me too negative. I sure hope so.

J-Mac PR? shoot me dead.
Shouldn't come as a surprise - MMac has historically favored caution over excitement for punt returns.

I'm excited to follow the various position battles (QB, RB, WR-X, OL, ILB-J, and FS) this Fall. While still suspect, our depth is better than it's been in several years (I know that's not saying much - let a guy be optimistic).

Well, QB and OL look discouraging.

It is almost as if the guys who were here before MikMac's arrival have to graduate before anybody recruited at those positions breaks into the lineup. Lynott, perhaps Haigler, are the exceptions.

Given the deficiencies at those positions when MikMac hit the door here, it is an underwhelming recruiting performance to be unable to recruit over those positions going into year four.

DL looks pretty good. LB may hold together with the JUCO and position switches, but still kind of iffy.

DB, talented, but paper thin depth wise.

WR could be OK with Winfree and Ento adding in.

RB remains jumbled. Some good players who have shown flashes, but nobody looking like they are going to take over and be the man.

TE, Irwin and Frazier could be an effective combo.

QB...I am sick of the Webb saga, **** or get off the pot. If Webb is a Buff then there is a chance the QB play rises substantially, and the Buffs could be a bowl team. If Webb prefers Dykes, then I expect more of what same, a bunch of close losses and ugliness by November.

What's up with Eddy Lopez? I seem to remember him being hyped by a lot on here but he's already been passed up by Franke and Tuiloma

Tyler Hennington at OLB, interesting?

I don't find that surprising.

What did Lisella do to go from starting near end of last season to 3rd string behind a frosh? He was practicing at guard when I saw him also. Not sure who did this chart!

These spring pencil charts are often psych tools to send a message. Might be the case with Lopez since he earned significant PT as a true frosh when he wasn't ready. My impression is he can get stronger.

Is Miller truly the #2 LT? Why not put Callahan there? Seems like we've been trying to get Callahan playing time for two years now and it just isn't working.

Obviously QB is a problem. The OL at left tackle will be better but the other four spots?

Defense depth is scary.

Outlook the exact same as the past two MacIntyre years. On paper, with everyone healthy, they might finally play well enough together to become bowl eligible. If anyone gets injured, we're screwed. And we always get injured right around the beginning of August through Veteran's Day.

I think the paper depth chart is mostly who goes out to run with the 2s in practice. On the OL, if there was an injury they'd be likely to shuffle guys and not worry so much about position. Just get your 5 best healthy OLs on the field for a game situation.

I'm glad to see Oliver at 1st string CB. His athleticism is evident (see track this year), and he'll only get better. I know we'll need Witherspoon, and he makes some plays, but I found myself too many times seeing #23 as the player who was burned on big TD plays for the other team.

Also, I'm not at all surprised to see Weifels at 3rd string at center. He got chewed out by a coach for ****ty play during the spring game, and it was evident that he wasn't giving the needed effort at the time.
