Baylor Rape HQ - (major lawsuit settled)

plus, starr not only knows where the bodies are, but has more of a firewall. He "loses" his job, and the AD keeps his. What about any coaches that participated in the cover ups? Is it just briles or do heads roll down the line? This is reading like they did the least they could do given the report (which would have come out anyways in the lawsuits)
BaylorFans.com posters are saying Phil Bennet will get the hook too. Others reporting he will be interim HC, who the heck knows?

The following is in the findings of their investigation... and they only fired one guy. How the ****?

Hooooooooly ****. The Title IX folks are probably (rightfully) drooling at this. They could really make an example out of **** bailer.

Who do we know we would do such a thing?

I sure didn't think Briles would get the axe. Pressure from public opinion must be pretty hot on this one.

Some former student already filed a Title IX suit is what I heard. I think some more will get the axe eventually.

This is great (stolen from other sources...):

Said Briles: “Originally the University gave me two weeks to decide to resign, but in true Baylor fashion they decided to go ahead and **** me whether they had my consent or not.”

Who knows how many incidents there are besides the ones reported? Heard it went back to 2009 at least. Also heard quite a few didn't come forward because they didn't think they'd do a damn thing about it.

Baylor should have their Football program suspended or receive the death penalty for this. This whole situation is unconscionable.
I think this is definitely what should happen, but we know it probably won't. The good news is that no major schools are coming to Baylor's aid in this as it relates to the NCAA. We're not talking about a school that brings a lot of viewers. There is a decent chance the NCAA and its member institutions will want to see Baylor hammered for this (so they can take it easy on the big boys for any future violations and still show people they are effective).

I hope the NCAA stays far away from the situation.
They won't if Baylor self reported "lack of institutional control." That is the most serious NCAA violation that there is. Should be at least what USC got, 10 scholarships lost per year for the next 3 years and a 2 year post season ban.

This one has to be more serious than the USC drama, right?

I think the seal was broken on NCAA involvement on things like this when they banned Penn State from post-season play, allowed transfer without penalty, fined them, vacated wins, and reduced scholarships.

Hopefully they learned from that situation.

Only good things can come from widening the NCAA's authority.
