Official D coordinator search thread (DJ Eliot hired?)

I didn't say that at all. But he sure the heck didn't put up with Leavitt trying to take over the defense and the team. Leavitt tried to step on Mac's toes numerous times. He put him in his place. This isn't some ***** of a man as the person I replied tried to indicate. Mac is a damn good coach and the **** talking or pot shots are just purely idiotic coming off what he built this program into from the **** storm it started as.

Up until the 14th of December Jim Leavitt was a god on these boards. When it was rumored that MacIntyre might be interviewing at Baylor, fans were saying promote Leavitt to HC. Not one peep that I saw on these boards that he was a cancer on the team.

Now he leaves and these boards are full of innuendo without attribution of source that Leavitt was in MacIntyre's way all of the time. Now I hear how (from you) that MacIntyre wouldn't let Leavitt take over the defense - I hope that Leavitt was in charge of the defense he was the DC after all. One of the things that pisses me off on these boards is that some people think they elevate their heroes by tearing down other people. Leavitt can coach and had a hand in the success of this season.

I would think Arkansas would win the money war in that one but maybe he doesn't like the fit there.

I trust Mac and I know he'll make the right decision. I just hate the thought of our recruits being out there not knowing who their position coach/defensive coach will be. Makes them susceptible to listen to other offers.

Hardcore cognitive dissonance itt, as usual. The longer it takes, the better. If we don't have a DC until August, it's because we know something they don't.

Nebraska has not hired Diaco, not sure what you're all talking about. He's the leading candidate at Arkansas and Nebraska, nothing more.

I've got friends who work within the Nebraska football program and they say it's done deal. He's in Lincoln right now and finalizing a deal between $700k-$900k

Rumor is Cal will hire Tosh Lupoi as Defensive Coordinator if Wilcox is the guy. Not sure how they could welcome him back after what he did.
It's widely believed by multiple sources with knowledge of their relationship that Lupoi -- who was close to signing a contract to return to Berkeley two months ago -- will join Wilcox, after his two-year stay at Alabama as outside linebackers coach and run game coordinator. It's expected that Lupoi would be Wilcox's defensive coordinator.

Mac better land an absolute monster hire. Disco has been available for weeks.

Watch Wilcox hire DeRuyter next.

Doubt that, and I'll believe Lupoi gets a job at a place he's gotten in trouble already when I see it. Watch for Peter Sirmon as the Cal DC.
