CU coaches - Who Should Stay and Who Should Go

MM doesn't want to fire any of these very well-compensated coaches prior to Christmas. That would be cruel. Then he wants to take his time finding replacements - who cares if it craters recruiting.

I really hope you’re wrong, very wrong. I’m going to be livid if we’re searching for assistants into late January and scraping the bottom of the barrel again to find some middle school coaches.

MM is averse to conflict. It's his southern gentleman thing.
 
He can get angry during a game situation but he can't fire people. Some guys have a very hard time with that. It will be his big problem in all his HC jobs unless he reboots his brain.
 
All the psychoanalsts on here should explain why some hotshot coordinator or assistant would want to jump here of Lindgren or whomever got fired right now given the incredible number of openings there are and will be.

And come in as co-offensive coordinator, with a HC that evidently is trying to flee himself (allegedly).

Isn't it up to the HC to sell the opportunity?
 
I think there is plenty to sell here. Some really good receivers and a good, mobile QB with two years left at Colorado. They key is getting a JUCO RB and improving offense line play with a mix of the younger guys and probably some JUCO help at a spot or two.

Do you or anyone else have a specific description of why it is called Co-Offensive Coordinators and what each one of them does?
Are the play calls made 100% by Lindgren over the headset?
Is it a title only for Chev to make him happy, or is he really involved in the game plan and play calling?

From what I have read on the message boards Chev calls the good plays and Lindgren calls the bad ones.
It's a great question as to how the OC duties are shared.

I think we see a couple changes, but the search drags out way too long. The search process is ridiculously slow and out of touch.

Not expecting anything until after the early signing period ends in terms of assistant coaching changes, and I haven't seen much in terms of assistant changes with the exception of places where head coach changes have taken place (Washington's new offensive coordinator doesn't count given Smith took the Oregon State job).

My completely unsubstantiated hope is that certain assistant coaches have already been notified and are being helped to make a soft landing elsewhere. Meanwhile, a search for replacements is quietly underway.
