I agree with you that he has been hitting the shovel pretty hard and dug a deep hole. If he is good enough though there will be a coach willing to give him a chance if he thinks it can win him some games.
He'd have more luck signing on with a White Supremacist NFL team
Even with a small program or something, who'd want to deal with the backlash of it? Football should be the last thing on his mind anyway.

Situations like this are not an either/or. Federal investigators can look into this and levy serious penalties (they did) and then the NCAA can come in and do the right thing by sending a message that protecting these kids is their top priority.

I’m not a huge fan of they ncaa getting involved either, I actually think the conferences should do a better job punishing these schools in their wallet like the big 12 did with Baylor by withholding revenue.
So how should Michigan State be punished?
A punitive measure that will deter future conduct. It's not up to me to decide the particulars, but it seems like a cop out for the NCAA to conduct a sham investigation and then issue a statement saying that no further investigation is necessary.
How do the MSU or Baylor cases not scream lack of institutional control and oversight?
That could mean almost anything though. I think it is important if you are going to criticize NCAA non-action to have a baseline punishment in mind. Because it then it just becomes a free for all.
Why is it up to me to decide what measures the NCAA takes? Is your defense basically that you think the NCAA should just throw their hands up and say "we know you were corrupt beyond all reasonable measure, but we're unsure what punishment would be fitting. So we're stopping the investigation".
Because if I have no idea what you consider appropriate punishment in a case like this one, you can basically complain that the NCAA never went far enough, no matter what they do.
But they didn't do ANYTHING. That is my point.
The entire gripe that I have is that the NCAA has just decided the MSU and BAylor cases are basically non-issues. It's disgusting.
But again, if you want the NCAA to really step up enforcement in grey areas (as far as their jurisdiction goes), it is pretty important to set boundaries on what they should be able to and what is exceeding their authority.
With MSU, the vast majority of the issues lie with the gymnastics program. Should that program be punished? Because that seems counterintuitive with a case where athletes were the victims.
I would not penalize the gymnastics program specifically, no. I would look to a penalty that impacts the university's bottom line across the board. You keep insinuating that having a team physician molest hundreds of young women is some kind of grey area. To me it is 100% black and white.

The grey area is the jurisdiction the NCAA has in such cases. It is not black and white. Your punishment would seem to exceed their authority.
