TN VOLS fans coming to UCLA/Colorado game

I don't own an RV anymore, but when I did, I took it to the CU-CSU game a couple of times. I will give you one guess where I had breakfast the next morning while "mr elephant" was having "sexy fun times" with his girlfriend in the bedroom?

Well that got weird.
What I got out of it was that the Bama mascot hooked up in Highlanders RV while Highlander went to have the Grand Slam.
The worst part about the tailgating is a lot of it is up to the fans too. There are a ton of open lots, get your friends, buy some booze, make some good food and turn up the music. It really is simple I just think part of the problem is this fan base is older and not into the party tailgating scene as much as others.
The quickest fix would be to find a way to get the students off the hill and out into the lots on gamedays. Essentially you have to have a section like the ball arena for students with stuff already set up and all they need to bring it food and booze.

This idea makes a lot more sense.
The pricing for donor parking lot passes is also asinine honestly. $155 for the season pass is perfectly reasonable. The fact there is only ONE lot that has a $250 donation is garbage. $405 for a season, roughly $60/game is high but doable. The next tier is $155 + $500, approximately $100/game is rough, especially for the younger fans/alumni that are still using their disposable income to pay off student loans.
I get the lots around Farrand being expensive. I get the lots at the B-School being expensive. I get the lots by the physics building and Franklin Field being uber expensive. I don't get why the Engineering school lot is so expensive (location I guess, but the lot is ****ty). The lot behind Wardenberg should be tier 1 as well.
I wonder what the age of the average tailgater is at Tennessee, or Texas.
My guess is that the best tailgate hosts fall in the age range of 45 to 60. Just a hunch.
I suspect that Boulder’s tailgate scene is a victim of some combination of distractions and priorities. I like to get a trail run, bike ride or morning of fishing in before a game, and show up to Sackygate just as Sacky is packing up. I’m part of the problem.
I wouldn't be interested in that if I were still a student. I thoroughly enjoyed the house parties and the vibe on the Hill on gamedays. I think it'd be beneficial to get students out of their houses and on campus, and thus in the stadium earlier than usual, but the scene on the Hill on Saturday mornings is part of what makes the Boulder gameday atmosphere.

I think it’s the best when it’s a mix of people of all ages. Yes older people have the money to throw some epic one, like the one in the b school lot every weekend, but you want to have some younger alumni and students there too to make it a little more lively. I just think there are too many people in the cu fan base that want to show up 10 minutes before the game and get in and out real quick.

Meh, it’s nothing that can’t cave recreated on campus, it’s just a numbers thing right now. If we could get a couple thousand students in a group tailgate every weekend it would be way better than being scattered around the hill. We always had connection to tailgate with our parents or on franklin when we were in school and it wasn’t always a ton better than being on the hill.
Just stating my personal preference for when I was in school. A University organized tailgate seems meh to me. If they wanted to do it as an option for 21+ students and serve both beer and liquor, I could see it being cool, but the house party allows for binge drinking of both beer and hard alcohol, and blasting your own tunes, not to mention the ability to be under age. Not sure they could make something better on campus.

Yeah but there is plenty of underage drinking going on while tailgating. The school doesn’t have to offer booze or food or anything they just have to give them an area to hang out and do their own thing with tables, seats, sun blockage and music. You can still pregame at your place and then he’s head down near the stadium an hour or two before the game.

If they just gave students a designated area and provided tables, chairs, cups, music, food carts (or allowed grills or something), etc and didn't have any kind of regulation, I could see that being pretty cool.

Try living an hour away. I show up early as it is preferable to sitting on 36 in stop and go traffic for another hour. If it is a good game where everyone stays to the final whistle, I'm grateful if the drive is only 90 minutes going home. It is usually pushing 2 hours. It is effectively an all day commitment to attend a CU football game.
Yes, yes, Highlander proves he is an idiot again. I should have chosen Boulder as my home when I moved back here 18 years ago. Compromises, wives, and such.
