Official Bowl Games Thread

I'd be shocked if Urban goes out with a loss. I might have picked UW if not for that.

I'm a sucker for the Rose Bowl setting and the pageantry even in years like this where I have no rooting interest.

I think OSU wins this game by double digits.

I would love to cheer on the Buffs at the Rose Bowl. Of all the NYD games, the Granddaddy of them All has the scene most aligned with what a winter vacation with the Fam is all about. That looks like a scene where life long memories are made.

I recognize the CFP often puts other cities and stadiums ahead of the Rose Bowl in terms of prestige and success.

It’s sad that CU is so far from the CFP and the Rose Bowl

I went last year. Blown away. Then they played an epic game.

I find the narrative of “since you think ucf isn’t the best team in college football = hater” to be major :ROFLMAO::LOL:

that's not it at all, it is the UCF can't even smell the feet of the servants who wipe the toilets for the P-5 attitude that is dumb. Yes, this season's team wasn't as good as last year's but if it is so easy to run the table on any leveel, why do so few teams do it? It appears some of you would cheer against the Little Engine that Could so that your belief in large desiel engines isn't challenged.

What about today told you they deserved a seat at the table. They got dominated up front by an undermanned team.

They are a good mid-major team. Nothing more.

You’re not much for nuance. You have bought into the victim complex and conspiracy theory surrounding how people view teams like ucf. This is what I think is laughable.

UCF is a fun story. They have some decent players and are an outstanding G5 team, but they’re not national champions. They’re not even on the level of being worthy of consideration for the national champion conversation. That they’ve described themselves as such was them putting a bullseye on their own backs. They shouldn’t feel victimized when people shoot the target.

I'd be great with them running the table and enjoying it, going undefeated at any level is a great accomplishment.

What bugs me is when they and the ignorant bandwagon jumpers try to make it something it isn't. Going undefeated in the AAC is in no way comparable to going undefeated or even having a one loss season in a P5 conference. It isn't apples and oranges it is apples and mashed potatoes. Going undefeated in the AAC doesn't mean you are the top team in the nation, it doesn't mean you are one of the best 15 or 20 even though the polls will put you there.

Yes the AAC is Division 1, so is the Missouri Valley Conference, why isn't UCF calling North Dakota State the champs?

UCF is a great story, they are a great G5 team. That doesn't make them champions. If their fans would just enjoy it for what it is it would be easier for the rest of us to do the same.

Browning is giving me Cody flashbacks, but I think at this point he may be worse

My problem was the claiming of the national championship. I still can’t believe they dubbed themselves champions and got rings and threw a parade. It was absolutely cringeworthy and embarrassing and I’ve never laughed so hard. They resorted to pathetic lengths to claim it as well...beat a team that beat a team that beat a team. Wtf? They beat a bunch of nobodies and then beat 1 team in a bowl game and all of a sudden they’re “champs.” It was disrespectful to Alabama as well to come out and claim something you didn’t earn. I wouldn’t want to be associated with a fan base that buys rings over moral victories and the only thing about UCF that makes me sad is that they weren’t out on a field last year with Alabama. I wanted to see that so badly.

The UW offense just isn’t explosive enough and hasn’t been the same since Ross left in 2016. That team consistently beat you deep with him and Pettit but now teams are sitting on all the short stuff and more effective against the run.

Washington hasn't been able to find a better qb than Browning?

Also, I could see & hear lots more of Maria Taylor.

I think I have a stronger arm, and I’m dead serious.

Brownings passes have less velocity than Ohio States defenders. The ball takes so long to get to the receiver that the defense closes on everything and they don't get anything after the catch when they make one.

I don't like Ohio State and generally, including Washington, pull for the PAC but the talent in this game isn't close.

Yep. Outmanned at every position. The PAC12 is an embarrassment athletically.

UW trying to get something going with 1:30 and 85 yards to go ended the game at halftime. Of course Browning misssd an easy first down throw.

This ☝️ UDub is the most physical team in the P12 and they look puny compared to tOSU and Aub.
Meh, Washington’s defense looks like they belong, especially at linebacker and defensive back. The main issue is why can’t UW develop a bigger, better offensive line with the kids they recruit?
