The only things I am certain of after this bowl season are Bama/Clemson are great and the SEC is very good.
Even the Big Ten looks less impressive.

Georgia was really kinda just good until they blitzed Bama in that first half. Not sure they are that close to those two.
That and Jay Johnson basically did everything for them on offense.
Their quality looks out of control right now.

They almost won last year though and they’ve been recruiting lights out with Bama for a few years now. They look awful right now though. They have the talent to compete with them.

They can play with anyone, it just seemed like they were more inconsistent than the other two this year. Think there was some championship game hangover.
Did anyone see the video of Bevo going for Uga on the Sugar Bowl sidelines? Yikes!

I agree although they played well against bama. They look awful right now though, they look out matched. They’re more talented than Texas.

This is great on two levels: 1) Georgia's clearly missing Tucker and the QC guys. 2) My childhood team,Texas, is winning. Hook 'em.
Very possible that a team that expected to be in the playoff would have trouble getting focused for what many of their players (and coaches) consider a relatively meaningless game.
Even before the playoff there were teams that didn't show up for their bowl game but it seems much more common now with the playoff.
Being the Cotton/Sugar/Rose/Orange/Fiesta Bowl champion doesn't carry the same weight as it did before.
Players? Okay. Lame excuse, but okay.
If a coaching staff does not care about a major bowl game, that coaching staff sucks.
I agree with you but you have been a college football fan long enough to have seen games when the coaching staff wasn't fully focused on winning that game.
Plenty of coaches have as much as said we aren't winning the national championship, I'd like to win the bowl but I'm using the extra practices to start working my guys who will starters next year and I'm starting to put in the changes we are going with next year.
Name those coaches playing in big bowl games. Like actually name them instead of throwing out BS that makes sense to you.
Tucker had his grip on this defense! They do not look the same. Wish the announcers would say over and over, “This defense misses Coach Tucker!”
