Tad has to go

With Tucker bolting, it's just a little reminder of how high profile coaches treat CU. Hug Tad, Hold Tad, Love Tad. Tad Forever baby!

The Tucker thing is the perfect summation of why I am one of the leaders of the #Tad4Life gang. CU clearly can't compete. The P12 sucks financially, and the school has no support within the borders. We're going to have to make chicken salad out of chicken **** constantly. Does Tad have flaws? **** and yes he does. But the man does more with less than anyone I've seen at CU. We could try chasing the next shiny thing and maybe catch lightning in a bottle, but that person's going to bail on us as well. It's not the '90s anymore and CU and our fans need to realize this.

I’ve been far too hard on Tad. I was of the opinion that CU basketball might win more games if we hired an up-and-coming coach (who would probably leave after a few years). Well Mel Tucker proved that was a dumb plan. Tad has a few problems, but none with his character and personality.

Let’s meet Michigan State in the tournament and blow them out of the water.

Sadly this is so true

He's the basketball version of Kirk Ferentz.

I'm with you now, give him whatever he needs and let him coach for life. He'll probably never reach the Elite 8, and he'll have quite a few bad seasons sandwiched between some good ones, and then occasionally have teams like this year.

He's had one bad season in 10. I will take that from any coach.

With all that went down, made me remember how the whole Bz thing went down, another slimeball move (Bohn learned about him going to WF from Chauncey if IIRC), and look at what happened to him.

The biggest thing I remember about it was right after it went down, my wife and I were at a CU event, and ended up talking to Bohn about how we were going to the Wake/Maryland game the upcoming year, and he kept trying to convince us to bring signs heckling Bz. Guy was no RG, but that moment was pretty entertaining, and was clearly pissed at him.

One of the more interesting aspects to the Tad question for me involves Tyler Bey. There is some weird juju there. Super talented kid who brings it about half the time. That can be incredibly frustrating for a coach. Could be entirely off the mark with this, but it seems like Boyle understands which buttons to push as well as when to lay low with him.

After seeing Tyler Bey this season, the Shawn Marion comparisons feel very apt to me.

I think that I agree with that. I think Tad has allowed Bey to grow into his game. It is nice that it is not just Bey or bust for the Buffs.

In the P12 and NCAA Tournaments, TB will need to be on at least his B-game for Colorado to be a contender.

I think the same could be said about any team in the nation regarding their best/second best player.

Only the luckiest and most elite teams win with subpar performances from a guy that you've been playing almost 30 minutes a game and getting double-doubles from.

Which is especially concerning for CU, given T-Bey's propensity to go missing, not just have an "off" night, for entire games. That'll be a serious test of Tad's motivational skills.
