Karl Dorrell officially named Colorado HC

Klis' boomer style is annoying - but he's pretty reliable...

Also I think I misspoke -- he said that Bieniemy remains a candidate and "clarity on his situation should be known by close of business Wednesday."

Not sure exactly what that means.

What do you mean by "boomer style"??
I know little about klis, don't really follow broncos beyond whats force fed on radio.

No to Bielema and no to Sark. Both guys have credibility issues.

As much as I've been opposed to Bieniemy - I'd prefer him to these other guys who come in with baggage.

Mike Klis said they want to have this wrapped up by tomorrow evening... Which seemed faster than I was expecting.
Yes. EB would come in here baggage-free. Did most posters on AllBuffs just start following college football?

I have to believe if EB had removed his name from consideration, there would have already been an announcement about how he's staying with KC, whether it came from him, the Chiefs, Schefter, or Rapoport.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking with the names that have come out as seemingly serious interest.
he apparently took a "mini vacation" with his family....so maybe when he gets back we will know more.

Who TF are you? I've been pretty clear about my aversion to EB -- but he'd be a better recruiter on Day 1 than Sark or Bielema and it's not particularly close...

My concerns with EB would be more around his abilities to lead the program and all of the things that go along with it -- less about his credibility in recruiting circles. It's basically the opposite with the other two.

Why would he be better recruiter than Sark and not close? UW classes were loaded.

Let me guess. You think we should keep Chev as HC and give him a bunch of money for assistants? EB hasn't recruited in quite a while.

Or maybe they would skip a formal announcement to avoid the appearance that he turned down his alma mater. Even if EB doesn’t take this job I would think he still wants the best for the program.

No, Chev is not ready for the head job. I'm hoping there is some darkhorse candidate not among those 4.

Because he just won a Super Bowl, and his name recognition is up about 100x nationally, and has proven himself to be effective before. And he didn't recently flame out publicly and embarrassingly like Sark.

Anyway, I'm biased. I just don't like Sark. Don't like Bielema... And frankly, think EB proved himself to be a ****ty leader when he was here under Embree.

Could be, but the cat's out of the bag that he is a candidate and he is expected to interview. No announcement one way or the other would be weird. I would also think if CU announced the hiring of someone else, it would possibly give the appearance they turned him down, which is not something he wants out there.

Maybe he already has. Shap said on 247 last week that Carl went out there Thursday to talk to him.

Right now EB is putting together the group of assistants that he feels can implement what he wants to do at CU. He is hyper aware of any criticism from his last go around but is not shying away from critics. EB does not shy away from anything. Instead he is methodically game planning how to counter everything and turn every weakness into a strength. When he is announced he wants to blow away any doubters, immediately. He learned from the last go around and is going to do it all the right way. It won't be official until all the ink is signed. He will come into CU with a plan, and the power and resources to make it happen. He is negotiating this time with the power on his side and that is a good thing for those of us who to see the football program succeed.

Are there any facts behind this or is this your hope? I ask this as an EB supporter.

Maybe and honestly I have no idea how the inner workings of these searches typically go but I would think it’s in the best interest of CU for it to appear that every potential candidate is still in play until the hiring announcement is made. It avoids the appearance that people are turning down the job thus giving other prospects pause, and it potentially creates some urgency on a decision if it appears there are multiple attractive candidates in the discussion.
