Ya know what? I'm going to miss that lunkhead. Seriously. Without him running his mouth and carrying on like a true retard, CSU is just another game on the schedule. Before he came along, nobody cared. Now that he's gone, nobody cares. I still want to win the game, but I don't get all worked up over the CSU game anymore. And I won't this year, either.

Come back Bradleeeeeeeee, we miss you and your FC-head sized mouth.

It was a true pleasure hating him...spunkly little bastard.

The kid could move out, too. Anybody else notice that when he ran--with that long torso and little short legs--he looked like the animated hot dog from those old concession promos at the drive in?

eye-watering stuff...but I promised myself I wouldn't cry. I CAN'T WAIT FOR AUGUST 30TH!!!!!!

Check out this creepy footage. Two odd ducks, united in their hate for our beloved Buffs. It fires me up for the nebraska game, too.

Okay, I'm almost done.

Here's 30 seconds of your life you won't get back. It wasn't quite the one I had in mind--I was thinking of the dancing concessions from the drive-in movie in Grease, but couldn't find it. Anyway, somebody slap a mullet on that hot dog!

The only problem with that is, first of all it should have been some sort of penelty. Why on earth did that douce bag think that 2 yards into the endzone he had to turn around and practically punch T-Wheat. I wish Wheatly would have turned back around and beaten the $hit out of him and showed everyone who worshiped that hack what a dirtbag he was.

That's the genius; BVP made a career of showing everyone what a dirtbag he is. Nobody else needed to kick his butt. Van Pelt is a nobody who left behind a legacy of embarrassing videos--on the field, on the sideline and with Trev Albert. T-Wheat, in contrast, sits on the verge of a brilliant NFL career.

I concur that a flag should have been thrown.

BVP was an :asshole: but you are right he did heat up the rivalry. I remember one year the commentators saying he needed to be tackeld by his mullet. Man, we couldnt stop laughing.

Anyhow, I'm still glad the lammies have gone back to their merely mediocre ways. A few good years and their fans thought they were the next Notre Dame. But alas, they were just delusional, so in that respect they did emulate Notre Dame.

Haters!

I used to be one of you too. But in the years since captain douchebag has left the sidelines, I've grown to appreciate what he did for college football in the state. He made CSU almost matter again.

This is a slippery slope towards waxing nostalgically about Dr Tom, and the whole 'Sal's Dead Go Big Red' thing.

BVP is a punk. Good riddance.

You give BVPussy too much credit. Sonny Lubick was responsible for bringing CSU their success. BVPussy was a product of Sonny's system imo.

For a guy who was 1-2 vs cu and what 17-10 as a starter is somehow the greatest player and legend in csu fans mind. That is a joke beyond all jokes. Funny, when he lost to cu in 2003 to a walk-on in klatt, that wuss ran to the bus faster than ever. The year before he had no problem yapping his pie-hole after the game.

CSU fans think he's the best football player ever in the history of colorado college football.

You may laugh your A$$ off now......

That's preposterous. Justin Hollad (?), Old Whatshisface, Quarterback McGee, Anonymous Jackson, Derwood Dingleberry and Moses Moreno all played under that same system, and Moreno was the only other Lamb QB who achieved even modest success. If BVP had been nothing more than a product of the Lubick offense then there would have been great quarterbacks on both sides of his tenure... you don't have to spend more than 5 minutes with a stat book to know that this is not the case.

BVP was sort of a perfect storm kind of player. He was a great athlete and a superb (albeit entirely classless) competitor, but he and Fort Collins just meshed with one another for whatever reason and really gave that whole program an energy that they had never experienced before or since. Three years of quasi-fanaticism in a town with deep seated football apathy... that's a fairly impressive accomplishment.

In conclusion: Bradlee Van Pelt was a complete prick and I still ****ing hate him. HO-RAY for abruptly changing gears!

Sonny put together some good teams back then. BVPussy benifited from that. I'm not saying he was a hack. I'm just saying he had a good squad and sonny knew how to use him. If he was a great QB and superb competitor then he would've never left Michigan State. They wanted to move him to Safety because he wasn't good enough to cut it at QB in a big school.

Well, I don't think they really gave him a fair shake in East Lansing... Jeff Smoker was one of those "unbelievably troubled kid with unbelievable talent" kind of players that coaches just refuse to bench... well, at least until they go to prison.

I agree. He took a fiarly lame rivalry' and gave it alot of fire. He seemed like a douchebag to us, but if he had been on our side firing up the troops we would have loved him (like the Broncos loved the douche Romo when he was here--a douche in San Fran, and a douche in Oakland).

I can appreciate that he was fired up about his team and wanted everyone on his team in a fighting mood. Sometimes you have to do that to rise up to higher levels of competition. Barney just didn't keep our team up high enough so it made the games tough.

Main point: I look forward to the game with CSU as the first game of the year, but back then I rabidly wanted the CSU game if it was the first one or not, just because of how he (and the other CSU fans) got me riled up. It made it alot more fun; alot more exciting to look forward to. There were other decent QBs ther with Sonny, but the perfect storm thing is almost true-- it just had more fire to it with him there. I miss that. I expect Hawk to start making this a snoozer from now on. Talent levels and coaching are starting to go in opposite directions.

why the hell are we talknig about the D-bag like he just left... he left 4 damn years ago and second... and perhaps funniest.. according to wikipedia...

Van Pelt was then signed by the Houston Texans on November 27, 2006 to be their third-string quarterback, brought in by his former coach in Denver, Gary Kubiak. He was released by the Texans on August 27, 2007. He now plays in the "Pub League" Southern Union Soccer League's (SUSL) Division II in Santa Barbara, CA for Press Room United. The SUSL is a recreational league.[citation needed] .

His soccer team, Press Room United, lost in the semi-finals to the SB Islanders 2-1 on May 4, 2008. Bradlee did not score a goal and received a yellow card.

Name me one guy on the CSU team that you truly can't stand. Just one. Any one will do. Kyle Bell? What's he ever done to piss us off? Steve Fairchild? Sorry, never heard of him until he got the CSU job.

We don't even have trashmouth to throw darts at anymore.

This was a rivalry when van mullett was there. It's not even close anymore. And I think that's a shame.

The worst thing about this position is that invites bad sportsmanship. I liked going to Hughes field and having a beer with my highschool buddies that went to CSU. When the BVP fueled 'rivalry' heated up, the fans at investco became so polarized that tear gas was once deployed. There's nothing sportsmenlike there. Some people love to hate.

The least of CSU's concerns is finding another loose cannon. Without BCS funds, that program has lost the arms race, and no punk player is going to change that.

Awww.... it's too bad that they changed it. Back right after they added the soccer information, my friend edited it to say:

"....SUSL is a recreational league and more than several divisions below MLS."

Awww pshawww. puhleeeaaasse.

A heated rivalry is better than a throw-away game that barely registers on the radar. Sportsmanship is for the Iowa States and Baylors of the world.

That happened way before BVP was in fort collins... I think that was either 1998 or 1999, Van Pelt didn't play against CU until 2001 at least, and didn't start until 2002.
