Darrin Chiaverini relieved of his duties as Offensive Coordinator

"Coach Chev, your coaching career got off to such a promising start. You recruited Mahomes and Mayfield to Tech. You learned from a person some consider one of the most creative offensive minds in the game. You came back to your alma mater as a returning hero, with some initial recruiting victories. But now, your apparent lack of creativity, intelligence, and football knowledge is dragging the Buff program back into the depths not seen since the Embree years. So my question to you is, what do you think of the new Ralphie? She is pretty cool, eh?"

“It’s not like when we had Steven Montez or some other veteran guys that have played three or four years,” Chiaverini said.

He actually used Montez as an example of what the Buffs could do with more experience. Dude, your offense under Montez was still bad and he actually had his best games during his youngest year.

If you and your fellow coaches recruited better you shouldn't be using "young team" always as an excuse.

Brian's a frickin' goon. That guy's on his knees for this program...or a cheeseburger.
For your reading pleasure, here’s a selection of BuffZone content from the past few days. Hard hitting, take no prisoners journalism.
1. Former CU Buff receiver KD Nixon enjoying time with USC
2. Darrin Chiaverini: CU Buffs dealing with ‘growing pains’ on offense
3. CU Football Notes: Buffs aim to shore up punt coverage
4. CU Buffs motivated by winless mark against USC Trojans

almost seems like getting their press credentials renewed is dependent on not pissing off the CUAD.

It absolutely is. Even if it wouldn't go that far, Plati would not grant access for interviews or let them get free grub while watching games from the press box.

Basically, they have to choose whether or not they want it to be easy to do their jobs & get some fringe benefits or if they want to stand on principles of journalism but have a much harder & less fun job.

Before I got banned over there (banned but never violated a TOS!!!), I asked Adam if he had ever had CUSID pressure them or tell them not to ask certain questions. He said no.
Does Adam run both BuffStampede and BuffZone?

I pretty much only follow Allbuffs and twitter for CU news.

Damn you got banned? That’s pretty lame. Probably pumpers threatening to cancel membership

On almost every first down play, you run the ball, straight into the line. Do you think that defenses have caught on to this tactic and do you think it might be a good idea to run a different play on first down every few series?

Adam runs Stampede. Brian is lead on Zone.

I asked Brian once why they weren’t getting info and asking questions on how MM managed ST. He told me they wouldn’t get answers because MM didn’t like that question, so they didn’t ask.

OK.

It's a small time program with a small time media following that don't care to rock the boat and risk being barred by Plati. I get it, but it's unfortunate. This program would be much better off if Dave Plati would move on, but like everything the CUAD does, it simply refuses to make tough decisions.

Yes, indeed. Pumpers complained. Adam said so on the forum. That invited more pumpers to threaten cancellation. The floodgates opened. Thus the ban. His boss got involved. I told him his post was inappropriate.

We had a productive conversation. He was cordial. He admitted I had never violated TOS. I knew then I had a opening. The ban turned into a suspension upon my appeal. I suggested making my suspension the same as Mustafa’s in an attempt to keep things light. He agreed. It ends tomorrow.

it has been suggested I change my username.

I won’t.

He will assuredly get more cancellation threats.

Seems like we need a #fireplati thread. Surely we can all support that one.

But if he moves out of Boulder, the local economy would take a hit, especially all of the fast food joints within ten miles of campus.

Damn. I'm surprised I haven't been given an ultimatum over there, yet.

Adam made a post about his assessment of the program right now, which I pretty much disagree with everything, and followed up asking Adam what Karl Dorrell's vision is for the program that Adam likes so much (Adam said during Fall Camp that he had heard and really likes Karl Dorrell's vision for the program, but never got into the specifics). We'll see if Adam answers.
