CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

The consolidation in college athletics is definitely speeding up. Might see no ACC or PAC by this time next year.

The PAC should survive after it eats the MWC.

PAC just died.

There's a better chance they get eaten by the MWC.
Wouldn't surprise me if there's a re-branding- call it the Mountain Pacific Conference.

Assuming the four schools remaining after the dust settles are Cal, Stanford, OSU and WSU, that’s not a conference. It’s barely a pod. Stanford doesn’t need the money, so they really don’t care. Cal definitely needs the money, but they’re getting a stipend from UCLA (heh, I wonder if the amount of that stipend goes up now). WSU and OSU just got royally screwed. Maybe Uncle Phil can throw some coin at the beavers, but oh, man is WSU in a colossal world of hurt.

I see McMurphy's tweets posted a lot. can anyone non-sarcastically comment as to his credibility on the subject of realignment?

Man this thread is flying along. Quick question so that I can catch up. Why is it assumed that the two alleged yes votes were not uo and uw? Maybe they told the other schools last night that they had a plan to stay and then this am presented a hugely unbalanced rev share. Or gave them an easy out to the big later. And the others told them to screw off.

Out of all of this, Colorado really looks like the smart one for seeing the forest through the trees, bolting first.
We’re headed in the right direction. But imagine if we had been investing in football all along. It could have been Colorado in place of Oregon or Washington. Our football was so bad for so long that we’re now stuck with celebrating going back to the big 12. We will make the best of it. We’re lucky to get invited to the big 12 and scary how close we came to being in the Mountain West with WSU and Oregon Sfate. Glad we have leadership and a new direction that is gonna get us back to being a great program.

We're never joining the big kids table. We're at the point now where we have to hope that we can do enough to stay afloat and be part of the group that the P2 allow to survive.

This is stupid and insane and an absolute joke. It is almost impressive how badly the NCAA ****ed up in the last 40 years.

If I understand correctly, MWC schools moving to PAC would have to pay $34M exit feet. PAC moving to MWC wouldn't have a fee. That points to remaining PAC teams joining MWC, not the other way around.
Merger which keeps Pac playoff spot in place is the only option which works for the parties involved.

Plus the P12's A5 status which is legislated into the NCAA. I wouldn't be shocked if the MWC is dissolved soon.
