Nebraska Game Week - Prime: “This is personal. That’s the message of the week.”

Oh it's personal for me to the tune of $4K. I was fishing Lake McConaughy one night and someone keyed the side of my black Chevy with a BUFF rear window sticker and BUFF license plate covers.
Just magnified the hate
I wish Osborne was coaching this weekend just to see his face one more time after getting his butt kicked.

It pisses me off that we're not going to be able to keep the red out (or down) for Prime's first home game. It wouldn't surprise me if he calls the fan base out...and we'd deserve it. We're just going to have to be extra loud...which is about all we can do.

These people need to be shamed. Hopefully the people that sit close to them publicly shame them.

US sports media loves rankings of any kind so much because it's so easy to get reactions and stir up controversy with it.

Well, especially when the guy that tweets it is a professional troll who does nothing but try to get reactions and stir up controversy.

I dunno. Fans went into zone 5 afterburner buying tickets for the season and the game. If the Nubs flood the stadium, that’s just some witchcraft **** and I have no answer for that.

My dad sent me this with the note "6:06- Larry Zimmer - ball is at the bugeater 47 yard line"

I believe he (dad) was there for this one. I am beyond hyped for this weekend. I am hoping for shades of CU CSU 2016.

I have always believed the 1986 game was one of Colorado's signature wins in their history. It was definitely a turn around year for the Buffs...they started the year 0-4 including a lost to CSU and a bad Oregon team. They turned it around in conference play going 6-1 only losing to OU in the Big 8. Nebraska was undefeated and #3 in the country and had beat CU 18 years in a row. Kyle Rappold was a 5'11" 250# NT and he bottled up the middle against a Nebraska team and helped hold a NU to their lowest rushing total in a decade. That team was one of the first to start showing the benefits of McCartney's recruiting - OC Oliver was a true blue chip recruit. Arthur Walker was a top recruit from Houston who helped land the H-Boys - Kanavis McGhee and Alfred William down the road. I was crying with joy at the end of that game, it really meant a lot.

Any mention of 1986 needs to include Soup on a reverse!

TCU was a bad matchup for CU, but the CU offense executed so well that the Buffs won the game anyway.

In contrast, CU is a nightmare matchup for Nebraska. I don’t think people realize how much better CU’s team speed is than Nebraska’s. Our playmakers will make Nebraska look silly when they get the ball in space, and that will happen early and often. In addition, the Minny game exposed Nebby’s other weaknesses on both sides of the ball, even though Minny is a slow team as well.

CU wins this game by more than 10 points, and possibly by much more than 10 points. There is a real chance that Nebraska will quit by the start of the 4th quarter.

I have known Kyle Rappold since I was in junior high school. Good family friends that I have spent considerable time with over the years. Very cool to see you give him this shout out!

Minnesota has been an elite top 10 defense over the last two seasons holding opponents to less than 2 touchdowns a game. They still have the same DC.

I think it’s fair to assume their defense is better than ours at this point.
I use that sort of logic but then you got to ask, how’d they do against top level competition? In 2022, they missed Michigan and Ohio State, and gave up 45 to Ped State. The Big10 West was pretty bad on offense and their three non conference games were all awful, including CU.

In 2021, same result but Ohio State not Ped St.

They didn’t play a team like this SMU team. Would take some analytics to crunch how to discount the low scoring nature of their conference, especially the west.

My eyes saw a MN D that was solid last week but Nebraska was awful. TCUs offense is good. I still think there’s plenty wrong with Nebraskas offense that I’m unwilling to attribute to how good MN is.

Is SMU good? I didn’t watch them this weekend.
