Other Games 9/7 - 9/9

Bama going to need to go back to being a run dominant team to have a chance at winning the West.

Air Force tied 3-3 at Sam Houston State...that isn't good imo.

And note former FBS member Idaho is leading Nevada 33-6 late in the 4Q. FBS could trim its own ranks a bit.

He can run, but that seems to be about it. Ducks aren't pushing the ball down field, almost off their throws are at or behind the LOS
That's what's killing us and he is a lot better than Morris and Sims. 35 yard QB running TDs are morale killers. Have to find a way to prevent that..

They are as fast as us, with better trenches. I am not convinced about their D scheme and dicipline though.

Wow...Northern Colorado is just bad...was down 35-0 at home at the start of the 4Q. UNC Football is now just an advertising and Title IX compliance expense.

They made a major mistake moving up to FCS from D2.

They had the resources to be on of the nations best D2 programs, even won a couple NCs at that level.

When they went to FCS they became one of the poor programs. They have struggled at times to fully fund their 63 scholarships, the recruiting budget isn't adequate,

At D2 they could build the core of the program on HS kids from Colorado (and some from surrounding states) while selectively grabbing some key out of state players.

At FCS they don't offer anything special for the players at that level and Colorado gets recruited by out of state schools who are better.

We have had this discussion before. UNC is not a D2 school if you compare all the D1 & D2 schools when it comes to the number of students, research tier, etc.

I think it's time for UNC to consider a new conference.

Mines beat Angelo at Angelo 31-21, hug win for them. Sets them up for a #1 seed in the regional playoffs if they win the RMAC.

Pueblo was down 21-0 to Grand Valley in the 2nd Q and down 28-8 two minutes before halftime. Scored two TDs in the last two minutes of the half.

Going into the second OT now. 49-49

That football team was an absolute joke when I played basketball there.

Unless they want to fund the program like an FCS school and find the money to do it on a consistent basis they are a D2 level program.

Being a laughingstock FCS program does nothing for the school. They aren't generating value in terms of publicity or attracting students or donors, it certainly isn't a point of pride with their alums.

So we went to play an away game against a big 12 game and won the shoot out. "BOTH TEAMS ARE BAD"

Oregon went to play an away game against a big 12 game and won the shoot out. "THEY ARE LEGIT TOP 10 AND WILL BLOW OUT COLORADO"

I disagree-and has nothing to do with the fact I went there. They've had basketball success. Tad built that thing. They got to the NCAA tournament in 2011, won the CIT under Jeff Linder, and got to the Big Sky Championship year before last (and made the CBI semis too).

Football has been another story-They hired a guy from Nebraska my sophomore year. Scott Downing. He flopped. They replaced him with an alum named Earnest Collins. He flopped. Then there was the McCaffrey fiasco. I thought they made a really good choice with Ed Lamb-He coached at Southern Utah (not exactly a powerhouse) for a number of years, and he got them to the the FCS playoffs twice (I think) before he left there for BYU. He seems like an adult. He's had success at that level. I think he can win there, but he's going to need at a minimum enough time to change that culture.
