that's pretty crappy.

what the hell are they worried about? the reports have all matched in pretty much every important detail, whether they have come from "credentialed" journalists or from folks just attending and posting on the boards.

i think it is interesting that the press and the normal folks have been reporting nearly the same thing and yet they effectively want to kick out the normal folks. this is just one more attack against the fans who follow the program on the internet. stoooooooopid move.

why they think that pissing on some of the most rabid, most supportive, etc., fans that they have is a good idea is beyond me.

^^^^^^^^^ I agree. I can completely understand if info regarding the Offense or specific schemes is leaked but come on... all of that has been printed in articles. As I stated earlier, it felt as if us fans weren't welcome. I got more dirty looks from staff members then I have in forever. I guess we are all just internet scumbags:rolleyes: Last I checked there would be no football team without us...way to piss us off. Whatever I'll be a fan regardless...but for the interns or whoever reads this in the AD. Fu(k you!!!! /rant

I dont see the difference between a 30 second video from a cell phone and the 7 minute clip that the University puts on its website. Not once did I ever report the formations we were running. The information that Slider, myself and others put on here was just a little bit more detailed than the newspapers reporting. I think there is something more with this that they just dont want us to figure out

I think it's either hiding an injury or they want to try to nip the qb controversy.

edit: perhaps they really didn't like that Ballenger falling behind article? Could that WR that left have said something?

How is closing the practice going to solve the QB problem? If anything, the scrimmage on Saturday would "leak" much more information than a few practices

I'm not sure. I'm just trying to think of reasons. Maybe they don't way day by day critiques of the qbs or people bitching about who's practicing with the ones, etc.?

All I know is that Ringo better step up his reporting. Recently it has been lacking. (I am still assuming press can go to practice)

Dumb move. Why should they care about what gets posted on an internet bulletin board? Does that honestly have any influence over how they conduct their business? I sure as hell hope not. Unless, of course, it has something to do with a recommendation I might make. In that case, they should really, REALLY care about what gets posted on an internet bulletin board.

In addition, CU’s athletic media policies will be strictly enforced.

Me thinks that is part of the problem.

When I talked to someone within the AD, I could not believe how much they despise "boarders." Supposedly, in one instance, something got posted on a "board" that ended up hurting our chances with a recruit. :bs: Maybe they're too blind to see the good that comes out of the "boards." How we're able to follow the team we support and love...:gun:

Internet scum! All of you. I wonder if the athletic department wakes up everyday and checks allbuffs and netbuffs and get a little sad inside they we are still here.

I know I get a little sad inside when I know as a fan of the program my site is so disliked by the staff.

CU athletic department, quit making me feel guilty for running this site! I know this is shocking to you guys, but we really like CU athletics, we like to watch it, we like to talk about it even....

Thats BS. Its the 21st century, the internet is not going to go away and if anything its going to get more expansive. The only difference between a "boarder" and the group of guys who goes down to the bar is that we talk about the same exact thing, except the "boarders" make it a little bit more public.

Has the coaching staff explicitly told the fans in attendance what's acceptable and what's not? Meaning cell phone footage or what should or should not be reported?

If they have and fans are ignoring them, then I'm going to have to side with the coaching staff on this one.

I still appreciate the reports by the fans here who were willing to give them. Thanks.

There is a sign that says "Please no cell phones during practice" and in the bubble their is a guy that walks around and enforces it. I have never pulled out my phone other than to see what time it is, and I dont write things down. I dont know about Slider but I pretty much just watch and remember things. I dont remember seeing phones in the 4 practices I have been to but who knows

THIS. To answer your question NW, there were signs at the Bubble...but NONE (99% sure on this) at the outside practice fields. I took my phone out to txt quietly and some guy came at me like a bouncer ready to throw me out and said, "We don't allow phones here" in his deepest, angriest voice:lol: I got pissed and left.

jj-i just remembered it all in my mind. Didn't see the sign at the outside practice fields, figured the policy had something to do with the bubble

I'm so glad that we have had a lot of recent success so we really do not need to worry about making diehard fans angry.

Well if memory serves Ballenger 'falling behind' came directly from Helfrich in that article.

:iagree:

A real shame. I realize that Colorado will never have the number of rabid fans as other schools, but shunning the real fans certainly does not seem to be the best way to expand the fan base.

Once again, I'm left wondering if the athletic department realizes that allbuffs.com is, indeed, a season ticket holder.

Slider next time you see Hawk, just say this...

I can see I'm in the clear minority here but I don't have a real big problem with this.

If they have some things they don't want to show right now or need fewer distractions at this point so be it.

Just bring it this fall, no more excuses.

it is just the latest blast against the big scary internet.

ever since plati got into a pissing match with ted smith (the netbuffs guy, back in the day), CU has had a hard-on for crushing the dissemination of information on the web.

other, smarter schools use the internet to their advantage, but, no, we have so many fans, we can afford to chuck a few thousand die-hards to curb. why not? it is raining adoring fans with open checkbooks in boulder!!!

carroll's practices are ALL open to the public. there are tons of fans there. and carroll works the crowd, too, saying hello to key boosters and such.

but, hey, what does carroll know about football? right? right?

what a freaking joke.

I really dislike to bring up the evil team from the east. How do they handle practice? I do know those fans love there message boards. I could see that state imploding if they were called internet scum. Hey BO how much would it cost me to have you say two words for me?

Shot Bohner an email...I'll see if he responds. Stupid move IMO. With that said, if any of you or anyone else gets pissed off enough to quit being a Buff fan, then that is truly sad

I don't like it. Was actually heading up to Boulder today. But a few things.

1. Not really mad, just disappointed. This pretty much puts CU in the same boat as everyone else. We were one of the few remaining programs to have the spring open to the public.

2. Was it the Ralphie Report that claimed Cody was getting 90% of the reps? Or where did that come from? Obviously BS...so sure that didn't go over well with anyone.

3. There were too many blogs popping up without media credentials.

4. Hawkins hates the interweb, we know this. Was just a matter of time.

Oh well.
