Joel Klatt

Joel Klatt on Big 12 Game Show

... Just said that he believes Tyler Hanson should think about transferring to a different school since the coaching staff is not making decisions in his favor...

I think we should beat Tyler to the change and FIRE DAN!

Wow...

JK on FSN had just said the TH should leave the university.....JK feels that CH has a long leash, and it is not fair to TH and this team....

On Fox's RM post-game show. He said, "Putting in Cody Hawkin's makes no sense here. Cody Hawkin's had all the time in the world to make mistakes and Tyler Hanson wasn't given the same chance." And then he said (not paraphrased) "There's a a double-standard at Colorado right now".

EDIT: Oh yeah, as noted elsewhere he also suggested that maybe TH should transfer. Ouch.

SO TRUE KLATT..

Its a joke that Tyler Hansen can't run the 2 min drill because "Little Hawk" is more experienced.. How do you get experience if you dont' get the chance?

F Hawk.

If I was on this team and had a RS year I'd transfer. This coaching staff is a joke.

We would have lost to Ron Prince had he coached today. That bad.

Joel Klatt's never played football. He's never played quarterback. How the **** would he know? Oh, wait...

I don't like Klatt recommending to TH to transfer. Whether there is a personal rift between JK and DH or not is irrelevant to me, recommending talent to leave the program is not cool in my book. I would feel the same if he suggested that about OU's, KU's or NU's qb, it just stings more because he's a buff.

You're right about that. I wish I could remember the specific quote, whether it was that JK would blame him, or actually recommended it. It was pretty harsh though.

The other way of looking at it is that Klatt is a great Buff and genuinely cares about the young men that sign on with the program. He sees a good guy like Hansen getting jerked around and having his college career destroyed... and it pisses him off, so he's trying to encourage Hansen to do what's best for himself.

it was more along the lines that he would not blame him if he transfer.....but he did attack the coaching staff for how they have handled the TH and his RS

The problem I have with benching TH is it is just plain wrong. Good football or bad... I don't care right now, its just wrong.

Before the game, on one of those Big 12 Fox Preview shows, Klatt said, "Colorado could have been 4-2 if Hansen had been playing" - that was taped from earlier this week, or else this morning, long before game-time.

It's funny, but you hit the nail on the head. What's Hawk going to do to discredit Joel Klatt? Did he play football? yes. In fact, he played quarterback for his father. Might have some experience there. Has he taken risks? Unless you don't consider giving up professional baseball to play football in college a risk, then yeah, he did. Klatt is probably the most vocal critic of Hawkins in the media, and Hawk has nothing he can throw back at him.

iirc, the last time Klatt criticized him Juicebox wrote it off because Klatt had never coached.

I knew Klatts dad and right now would much prefer to have him as the coach of this team. He may be older and not know the college game but at least he makes an attempt to get his teams emotionally ready for a game.
