Well, to be fair, I'm just talking about this year.Oklahoma is still up there with Texas IMO. The Sooners are having a down year, but they'll be back once they get an O-line gelling again and a more experienced QB.

has achieved the ultimate in mediocrity, except for Tejas.
OU is still an elite team, but their offense is bad. Jones is too young and is playing behind a young line.

Across the country college football at the top seems down this year. The best two SEC East teams have real trouble scoring, USC is down defensively, there are no real standout teams in the Big 10, etc.
Yea there's definitely no dominant teams this year. Texas is probably the closest to being dominant at this point, but they have their issues too with the lack of a running game.
Without Jordan Shipley, how good would UT really be?
I don't think Texas is all that great, either. They play no one OOC, and they are going to waltz through this crappy conference into a thorough ass kicking in the BCS championship.
At least that's my predicition.
What's with the Texas lovefest? You guys had them by the shorthorns down there and gave the game away.
Nothing about that team is frightening.

As long as we're throwing around the "youth explanation":
If that's the case, how is it that CU is in a situation where it's building up from a losing season (and on the heels of a recruiting scandal, new coach and culture change) and is less experienced on offense than OU... but CU being 3-6 is considered a major disappointment.
Food for thought.
Texas is very good this year but after McCoy graduates they will take a dip in 2010. Too bad CU can't catch them then. Just our luck to play them at their high points.
