How many does the juicebox have to win next year to keep his job? 4? That would be an improvement :rolleyes:. PS, when its BREAKING NEWS that someone who is under contract next year will be back next year, probably means he isn't doing a very good job.

Recruits won't see him as a lame duck, they'll see him as the guy who recruited them, believed in their talent, and who is leading them to a NC.

Certain news needs to come from the AD - period. But if you are re-posting rumors, please state that. You posted it as though you had information. Reposting BS from elsewhere is not information if it's BS.

Shanahan isn't coming either folks.

On the staff changes, the only great coaching candidates for the staff are probably going to be guys with ties to the program who want to help fix it.

When the smoke clears, it wouldn't surprise me at all if there were far fewer staff changes than we all hoped.

I hope Simmons is added to the staff for next year. On offense, we need some help too. I'd love to see an experienced guy (even an old guy like Alex Gibbs) brought in for the offensive line.

Bohn will be back and will meet with Hawkins tomorrow morning to discuss, staff and contract changes.

I think at this point, the only way he goes is if he argues the staff changes. On a personal note, who would want to come and coach here? Their job, not just their contract would be a one year deal...when he gets fired next season.

Sorry for the bad news...this all broke about lunch time today.

All the insiders were right all along until to Distefano and Benson decided to butt their heads into matters they have no clue about.. Frickin ridiculous.. The administration has screwed our program and has set it back another 3 years..



If I was a player, I'd have a hard time wanting to stick around anymore.. This program will continue to employ a head coach that is quite possibly the worst gameday coach in the history of football.. Forget the recruiting, that has already proven to be a joke even before this news.


Glad to see our expectations of the program are to be dead last in the North.. Thanks Distefano.

So, JuiceBox comes back for 1 year? Swell, our recruiting this year has been mediocre, and how can anyone sell this program to recruits next year, when Hawk's teams are getting blown out of the water by Cal, UGA, Oklahoma, and Tech when they know that Coach Squawk will be gone November of 2010. I can't believe the administration for making this call.

I think Hawkins is a strong recruiter and mesmerizing speaker when conversing one-on-one with recruits or their parents. Do I believe he comes through on promises? I do not.

But this news won't necessarily hurt recruiting. That's what I think.

I'm just curious if Bohn will stick around? If his decision was truly overturned, why would he want to remain in the AD position? Apparently DiStefano thinks he can do a better job..:confused:

Like he said, if you know so much as to have the ability to dispel any rumors, how about letting us in on what is actually going on so we stop posting BS that angers you so.

Regardless of whether this turns out to be the right decision or not, if this is true and I was Bohn, I'd be updating my resume and actively looking for another job as soon as I stepped off the plane. Instead of announcing the retention of Hawkins, I'd be announcing my resignation.

This is complete and total Bull****!!!

Hawkins told the boosters, "Eventually, the cream rises to the top in every endeavor. I have every confidence in that, I do. We've got to grow up a little bit. Yeah, we need one less penalty, one less turnover, one more correct route, one more guy in the correct gap. All of a sudden, there you go."

More of this **** being shoveled down our throat for another year.

I don't particularly care about recruiting. It is an overrated and inexact science anyway.

This decision only delays the inevitable by a year. There is zero chance Hawkins coaches this team to a winning record next year.

I did make some declarative statements earlier today. And I was wrong. Part of it was wishful thinking (wanting to have a quiet Thanksgiving).

But my post above that you quoted wasn't a declaration. It was a summation of the best information I've read and been told the past month or so. And I'm not so sure it is incorrect.
