The all-in-one Hawkins thread

Re: To all the sunshine pumpers, if he is retained as it looks like

What this has me thinking about is the need for the fans to step up and support the program. If we can create a non-profit fund for supporting the AD that would pool our resources into a huge donation, that will help ensure that the AD is powerful enough financially to be independent from the CU administration. Also, it would give us all more of a say (through the fund's board).

A banker who posts on Rivals is in the process of getting this set up. Part of his focus is going to be to attract non-alumni Coloradans and Colorado businesses as a "Colarodans for the Buffs" type thing. If/when it gets off the ground, I'll post more information here.

Re: To all the sunshine pumpers, if he is retained as it looks like

I support CU. I support the players that are busting it for the program. So, even though I disagree with the decision, I'll be 100% behind Hawkins going into next year. If others can't do that, fine. That's their call. I'll just look at it as an opportunity to upgrade my season ticket seats because I'm in it for the long haul.

Same here. I've been a CU Hoops season tix holder for 12 seasons now, so ya the long haul. That being said I'm done listening to Hawkins talk. DONE! Show me don't tell me. I don't wanna hear about culture, or doing things the right way.... he'd better just ****ing win and stop with the embarrassing losses, a lot of which have been on national tv. If he starts off losing to CSU next season....... :censored::bang::pissed::pissed3:

Re: Do you agree with the decision to retain Hawk for another year?

Hell ****ing NO NO NO.....if this is true, then this school has lost all interest in becoming a winning program again..sad day

Re: To all the sunshine pumpers, if he is retained as it looks like

Simple. This university has zero commitment to this football team, athletic department, and to the Alumni. I don't know ONE single person that wants Hawkins retained, besided Duhstefano. So why should I show any commitment in return??? Take a look at next years schedule, it is going to be more of the same. The only good news is the stink will hopefully reach so high that it will take the chancellor with it next year.

All things considered, I think I'm your man. Let the neg reps roll in. I'm the one.

Re: To all the sunshine pumpers, if he is retained as it looks like

I support the team, I do not support hawkins in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.

No other coach would get another year with his pathetic record and performance but, the cu administration doesn't care if cu wins,as long as their no scandals, they could care less if this program gets better.

pu$$ies

Re: Do you agree with the decision to retain Hawk for another year?

This poll needs a 3rd choice:

"F-U-C-K NO"

Re: Do you agree with the decision to retain Hawk for another year?

Im not voting until after Bohn makes his announcement. Its all speculation at this point.

Re: OK, lets start taking names. How about an accountable poll?

I'm done investing anything other than occasional time in the program. No trip to Berkely next fall, no more trips back to CO, I usually attend 1-2 away games and 2-3 home games a year. That's it. No more. No more gear, no more anything.

I refuse to support accepted mediocrity.

Re: Bohn To Announce Hawkins' Fate Tomorrow (Thursday)

I posted awhile back, since I have been watching CU, they have always done things that make me scratch my head. If Hawk comes back next year, this will be yet another example of that imho. Im really anxious to hear the reasoning behind it, could be as simple as $$$$$ I guess.

Re: To all the sunshine pumpers, if he is retained as it looks like

You are the type of fan driving the decision to retain Hawkins. DiStefano knows you and others will mindlessly support the program with your $ no matter what they decide. They insultingly think our fan base is full of droolers like you and it appears they're right. The only thing they understand is $ support and the only way to effect change is to pull that plug. So much for the Ivy of the Rockies; our fans are too dumb to force a change.

Supporting the team does not make anybody a bad fan. Neither does withholding support at this point, in my opinion.

There is no need to be calling anybody a "drooler" just because they aren't going to deal with this the way you want...

DiStefano

How does this guy get his job? Elected? Voted on by the regents?

How does he retain it? Multi-year deal? When the existing deal is up, is it a vote again or something similar?

I would love to figure out how to put pressure on him or those that keep him in power, since he seems to be the one that wants to have control over running the AD and control over what type of performance is ultimately acceptable.

I want him gone and want to figure out how best to get somebody in place that understands successful athletic programs ARE a key part of a university.

Re: OK, lets start taking names. How about an accountable poll?

Need another category. Forever supporter of CU, but totally against current administration.

Re: Do you agree with the decision to retain Hawk for another year?

No way do I support it. I'm tired of his bs talk. I'm tired of his bs excuses. I'm tired of his losing. And I don't want to go through another 12 months of this bs.

Re: To all the sunshine pumpers, if he is retained as it looks like

If talkins is back next year.. the black fades to brown and we know what brown look's like ($#!t) and the gold will look yellow "the yellow stripe down bohns back" fire talkins now ****er !!:sad2:

this. I'm not going to just forget I love to watch CU football. I'm also not going to support Hawk next year. I don't know where that leaves me.

It's an accurate description of someone dumb enough to allow the admin to repeatedly slap us in the face and not realize how to make it stop.

Re: Do you agree with the decision to retain Hawk for another year?

I've gone back and forth so much on this. But right now, I don't think there is a better option, so yes, I do. Now, if T. Buff Kickens came here and donated $150 million, than I'd be all for a change.

So is "unconditional fan". There is a case to be made for both sides, and plenty of better places to direct your anger than at other fans... that's all I'm saying...
