Tini thread creation format FAIL! Nice try though. May your future efforts be more successful so that Nik has time to care for his child.

Rivals article makes it very clear that the Buffs are in the lead:

"Colorado's on top right now," he said. "I like the way they're recruiting me. All the other coaches from the other schools haven't really kept in contact with me like they have. It's really pretty and has nice weather there too."

The Buffaloes have another advantage in that they've also offered his twin brother, tight end Sean Irwin.

"I don't think I'm going anywhere without my brother," Jeromy Irwin said. "Colorado offered him but Louisville didn't. Louisville doesn't run a tight end. I'm not going to go somewhere where they don't run a tight end in their offense."

Quite a bit more in there, too. This is looking good.

There are only so many OL spots to go around. Would be very interested to see what the coaches' "big board" looks like. Which guys are they willing to wait on and which guys are they willing to take at any time?

If Blacken can reposition about 30 lbs on this kid we could have a monster tackle on our hands, so i see a lot of who they go with on who blacken thinks he can mold the best. The coaches obviously see talent, after that its up to strength and conditioning to make that talent actually productive on the field.

Not trying to be nit-picky, but it's actually Cypress, TX. How I know? Because one of my ex's went to that highschool.

Back on topic: Cy-Fair has historically been a powerhouse in that school district.

Thanks. Weird thing is that I spelled it correctly in the Tags.

To BB's point about the CU big board, I think the Irwin twins are an interesting case. On the one hand, they don't have a lot of offers and the recruiting services haven't rated them. On the other hand, they were both 1st Team All-District (17-5A) in Texas as Juniors and it doesn't look like they've done a good job marketing themselves (no highlights I've been able to find).

But when you look at the OT's we've offered, it's pretty much a who's who of the best in the west. Same with our outstanding TE offers. These guys don't have the star power of a lot of our other offers. Doesn't mean they're not better football players, though.

It's all about the coaching IMO. You can sign all these 4 and 5 star players but without a good coach you end up with marginal players.

+1. Do you think this kid projects as a guard?

I imagine Thurston gets as much time as he wants. Any other guesses on who gets to take their time?

Really not sure on whether he projects as a guard or not, but that is an important question to consider for a lot of these players.

As far as players getting all the time they want, my guess is that list is pretty small. Maybe only Thurston and Callahan.

How in the hell is this guy, who looks massive, the TWIN brother of the other Irwin, a stick by comparison?

My thoughts exactly. At his height, at least compared to some of the other guys that we have offered, he seems to be more along the lines of a guard to me. Not sure what his style of play is and whether he has the physicality to move to the interior though.

That picture that was posted at the Niki combine was awful and really distorted his appearance, Here is Jeromy #70 and his rother Sean #80

Wow, that pic is a lot better for Sean too. Must be nice having a pair of dudes around who can lift a truck if necessary.

Thanks. I'll crop and replace when I get home. That was an awful pic but I couldn't find a different one.

:gobuffs:

Agreed, much better picture. Sean looked rail thin in his other picture, but looks like a kid you wouldn't want to mess with in this one.

What are you feeding those kids? Seriously, what's the food bill?

Remember I have another one also, about $350.00 a week, but bill going up now as school comes to an end and they are home for the summer. Will be glad when someone else has to feed them soon!!!
