Other games weekend of 11/24-11/26

New Mexico got boat raced last week in Fort Collins. Can't be resurgent when giving up 400+ yards in rushing. That game was over as half-time

Wyoming has turned it around in text book fashion. Built for the long haul. Very impressive.

New Mexico is horrible this year. But that's good enough to be in the running for a MW division title when there were 2 weeks left in the season. That conference has been hot garbage.

They've looked impressive when I've seen them, but that loss to 4-7 UNLV hurt, no doubt

New Mexico has also been a terrible program for a number of years, a bottom 10, Kansas pre-Snyder Kansas State bad program. For them 7-4 and any kind of bowl is a big deal.

They lack depth which has been catching up to them but they are talentwise a better team than they have been for years and they look like they have a decent chance to sustain it.

Depth isn't the issue. They are playing MWC teams.
They won 7 last year. Davies has had then being ok. But they are not resurgent! I watched that game and CSU scored on 7 of First 8 possessions. they were up 49-17 in the 3rd. Stevens was 9 of 10 passing but they didn't need to pass. They ran for 400+ yards. 3 guys had over 100 yards rushing each. This was total domination like I have rarely seen. Fresno St. Over Colorado bad.

UNM is an awful 7 win team.

Yeah. I've been watching them and rooting for them. Having seen them loose to New Mexico State and Rutgers in the non-conference, I've been shocked at how incredibly bad the MW is and that they got to 7 wins. Davies has done a great job managing games and finding ways. That defense is horrible and he's also trying to juggle two QBs who play completely different games (triple option guy & a pocket passer guy).

Real early (8:24 of Q1), but Memphis is up 14-3 on Houston. This would help CU so much in a resume comparison with OU.

using 3rd and 4th down....Memphis converts a 3rd and 23 on their own end of the field. then, goes the length of the field for a TD. heck yeah. 21-10.

Does anyone else hate UNC? That school is as dirty as anyone (except Bailer). F*** Bailer.

Yep. They've been running a dirty program for a long time in Chapel Hill. Plus, if you talk to ACC fans you usually hear that they are very similar to UT with the way they try to dominate the conference politics. I always root against them.

UNC gets a pretty big Free Pass in the national media on the academic fraud stuff....seems to me. they were handing out fake grades for fake classes.....for chrissakes. that's about as contrary to the spirit of student athletics as it gets. i also have issue with UNC's (and Duke, for that matter) in that they play about 90% of their first/second round NCAA basketball games in the state of Carolina.....for decades. even before the pod system.

VT is a good matchup for Clemson. It's Those shootout teams that they struggle with. Clemson would much prefer VT than UNC. I have that on authority

NC State the misses the short field goal, but still goes into half up 21-7 on UNC.

Excellent. Most excellent. Would have loved to have those points, though.

Is it odd that I sort of hope the Beavers win tomorrow? It sounds like after the Utah win that Helfrich might be kept on and given another year which is what I was afraid of. Apparently one good win outweighs 9-10 horrible losses, but I suppose people who were used to losing for 50ish years are willing to accept that. I would never cheer against my Ducks, but its ironic how a Beavers win might save whats left of the Oregon football program.

See, Dan Hawkins. Not many people here are going to argue with your logic.

Another very unfortunate targeting.

Edit: Not saying it wasn't targeting, it was just unfortunate the player ducked into the hit.

It may feel odd, but I get it. As a fan who is rooting for Oregon to fall hard, I'm rooting for the Ducks to win today and Helfrich to keep his job - even though I'm worried that Anderson is building something to worry about in Corvallis and I hate to see momentum. That should tell you something.
