I'm just thinking of some 190lb DB coming in on the blitz with a bead on the QB and all of the sudden Mr. Powell steps up to say Hello.

Lots of different things an offense can do with a guy like Powell involved.
 
This guy running the wco waggle. TE at a 10-12 out pattern taking the safety; linebacker closes on qb; qb dumps the pass to Powell who is running the flat pattern. Neon-Deon like corner looks up to see an Abrams tank barreling down on him.

If the corner is still awake, he's gonna need to change his pants.
 
Awesome! Hopefully UCLa doesn't get in on this one. If we take Powell... Norgard needs to go to Defense. Too much talent to be wasted riding the bench esp with all the needs we have

Agree. Take this guy for FB, move Norgard to LB. We can pick up an extra fullback via walkon.
 
Good sign for the future that we are recruiting players who are athletically good enough to match up with BCS level competition. Powell is a guy who can physically dominate other players, Norgard is a good enough athlete to compete at multiple positions and match up.

No more of these guys who are to small and to slow trying to lunch box up against superior athletes.
 
To me, this guy is one of our top remaining targets. Very good fit to the O we run. Dude is a beast, we havent had a fb recruit like this in awhile.

True dat. We were damn close to forming a mob and storming the Dal Ward football offices when HaLkins announced that he would no longer be using a fullback because the position was obsolete in modern football. What a ****ing idot.

Why do we always feel the need to suggest changing positions of our recruits. Powell is an absolute beast as a FB. We are supposed to have a power running game which requires a beast of a Fullback. If Powell wants to play FB and our roster has no real FBs on it why in the hell would we want to move him? Did you guys watch the Utah game? Their FB was kicking our asses. We need one of them and Powell IS it!

FB is obsolete in modern football. You could ask Vickers about that but he is busy making a living in the NFL, as a FB. :lol:

Especially coming from a guy that constantly bitches about recruiting CB's that also happen to play WR or RB in high school......this guy is hilarious
 
I completely agree with Highlander (and others). This guy is a stud. here is a link to full televised games in Cally. It has numerous Upland games.

Upland lost to a hugely talented (and just plain huge) Vista Marietta team. Powell had a great game, despite the strange play calling. Besides his blocking, he was a very effective runner. Also skilled at catching balls in the flat. (I'm not suggesting this is the best use of his talents, but it is great to see his athleticism) He also had a number of bigtime sacks against a fast qb.

How sick would it be to out-recruit nebraska at the fullback position.
 
After the game you look around, and you're in Nebraska... we should be able to out-recruit them at any position.
