Did he graduate HS early? He's 16? That's crazy.
Is there any chance some of these guys will GS. We are still appearing to go with the development formula for OL/DL/LB. It is going to take time for these guys. I do like all the projectable size we are going to have on the team.
I think we'll see some greyshirts. I almost always favor it with OLs if they're willing to do it since so few are ready to even give a good look on scout team as a 1st semester freshman.
Bakhtiari was heavily recruited by Washington and Utah, which were pretty decent offers at the time. Certainly not elite offers but he was hyped up after blowing up his SR year and stonewalling Kevin Greene
I don't think he was heavily recruited. According to this Rivals article, he did not have the UW offer as of 1/18 and it was between Utah (a Non BCS team at the time) and CU, who was already heavily wounded.
The interest level is probably pretty similar given it's 12/15 and he has one BCS offer (and is now committed).
Welcome aboard young man. And I mean young. Hope you grayshirt and can come in during the Spring.
So I finally watched the tape. Hard to tell sometimes on OL, but woah. Sleeper of the class IMO.
I think his arm length is more important than his total height. There have been some really good tackles that don't have ideal height but they're able to make up for it with their athleticism, reach, and technique. But in saying that it's really hard to less than 6'4" and be a successful tackle, so if he's not at least 6'4" (I think he is that tall btw) I totally agree with you. He's not a mauler, but he's really quick at the snap. As young as he is, I'd love to see him grow another inch or two if he's going to play OT.
