'14 CA TE Dylan Keeney (Signed to COLORADO)

Well he says he's being recruited as a TE, so I can see why he's such a good looking DE!

Welcome aboard! Good looking ATH for whatever that's worth!

Welcome to the Black and Gold! The Buff train is leaving the station. All aboard!!!

The kind of recruit that could really pay dividends down the road. :gobuffs:

INT in title game

Finally watched his video and was surprised by his athleticism. Wouldn't guess what position he ends up playing, but he looks to have a good feel for the game.

He looks way faster than listed. In his highlight video he's a OLB covering WR's and in one play he caught up to a RB from behind when the back was on full break. Those results are confusing. He appears to play a lot faster than a 5.13 40 time.

Ranked as a 3*, 86 by 247 Sports. That's good enough to make him the highest 247 rated recruit in our class right now.

Think we got a steal here.

Tend to agree with you. M2 seems to have a liking for big athletes who have a lot of room for development, high ceilings.

Wouldn't be surprised if we have to hold off some PAC schools to sign him before it is over.

Great measurables. Any idea why he isn't getting much attention from some bigger schools? Tight ends are tough to come by.

Apparently he had not played Tight End, just defense, up until this summer. He camped at CU so we got an early look. Staff must be connected in Sacramento (you'd think) and they knew about him. Kid plays for a pretty high profile program and with his size and speed, you'd think he'd have had people just looking at him as an athlete...

After seeing how ready Awuzie was, not to mention his ceiling, I'm starting to think that NorCal has been ignored (relatively). Stanford recruits nationally and very selectively. Cal I think had lost their way in recruiting, despite getting good classes on paper. Perhaps it's just under-recruited compared to say LA

Also note that Olugbode and Severson playing right away. And then there is Gillam, but he's from such a backcountry place, that's more the story there.

Edit: was typing when Duff posted.

Good post, Holic. We should be hitting Sacramento, Fresno, and the Bay area hard every year. There are good players to be found.

The Sacramento metro now has over 2 million people and it's lightly recruited. Damn straight CU should be all over that. I'm happy to see that we are.
