Thanks, I did not know that.

It's actually a bit more complicated than what I posted. Something like that counting back to a class only applies when awarding a walk-on a scholarship within his first couple years at your school. A senior can basically be awarded a scholarship without limitation as long as you're under 85. To award a sophomore, you'd have to be both under 85 and also under 25 for the class he entered with.

Does MM award walk-ons yearly scholarships, or do they last until the player leaves? Seems like I recall the former being true, but I'm not sure.

By rule, all scholarships were yearly. It will be interesting to see how this plays now that we're seeing 4-year scholarships start. Generally, though, the walk-on scholarship is used to award a senior when the squad is below 85 due to attrition & it's a 1-year deal that won't affect future recruiting slots.

Not sure if this was a serious question, but the answer is no. 5 seasons to play 4. But he get's a full spring before that first season, which is a bonus in his developent.
Well, technically that is 5.5 years, so I'm cool with DBT rounding it to 6.

A full spring learning our system and not a fall season playing on the scout team. The extra spring goes a long way in getting a degree and possibly more on CU's dime.
