2015: Recruiting News, Notes & Official Visitors

BTW he tweeted this last year

We landed Jay MacIntyre and Wiefuls after this.

No position surprises so far. I remember 2 years ago cubuffs listed Ryan Severson as an LB and thinking WTF.

Falo listed as a DE. Not really surprising, he didn't seem like an LB.

So do we not sign an LB this year?

Technically, no. But we did bring in a LB with the Watanabe grayshirt. Also, looks like there are some position switches in the works so the numbers at LB should be the same or higher even though we lost 3 to graduation (Greer, Daigh & KT).

With the way we have been ignoring LB in recruiting I hope that M2 has a strategy to make up for it. Maybe a part of that is to recruit athletes who were DEs or Safeties in HS and either bulk them up or slim them down to be LBs.

With the prevalence of spread passing teams in the PAC12 that isn't necessarily a bad strategy. Bring in guys who are used to either being in coverage or rushing the passer and teach them to play OLB.

Never hurts to have a long snapper pipeline! (can't see this posted anywhere else yet?)-
