One year in Lincoln turned Bob Diaco into Butch Jones.

How can people not like Wisconsin? Such mediocre recruiting classes year in, year out, yet always a great program. The only problem is that Ohio State's superior talent always seems to beat the developmental system UW has in place.

Speaking of team identity. I would love to see Colorado adopt a similar identity to Wiscy. Colorado would be able to pull better recruits too if the system were successful.

Says who? They have the Big 10 going for them in a football crazy state/region.

Says history. Wisconsin has never been able to recruit at an elite level due to their location. Thus why they do what they do system-wise. Colorado on the other hand can recruit extremely well when even moderately successful.

Off to a good start recruiting wise too, maybe this is the year they finally recruit up to the level they should.

History has changed and new factors are in play. Such as TV time, NFL eyes on you, conference prestige. They use that system because it just works.

Really? Then why are they consistently out of the top 35 over the last 5 years, and the one year recently Colorado had a successful season (2016) translated to a better recruiting class than Wisconsin who is consistently successful?

It's been discussed here plenty, but the fact is, the state of Wisconsin produces the OL recruits that thrive in the Wisconsin developmental system, and they ALL dream of going to UW. Colorado may have one or two of those types each year, but for the most part, they all dream of going elsewhere.

is it old growth rust belt neighborhoods that create big lineman type people? just wondering.
