He is a QB there. Supposedly wants to come here and will switch to TE.

Good size and likely very agile at 6'-3" and 217 lbs. If he trains to be a TE, he can likely get up to 230 or 235.
I would think that he can get immediate eligibility since his family will be moving to Colorado. This is how a long list of kids are now able to get eligible.

He's a walk-on, pretty sure that gets you immediate eligibility.

Thought that was a rule, guess not.
"Another distinction is that Division I walk-ons deemed to have been recruited who then want to transfer to another Division I school must sit out a year, just like scholarship players."

Non-recruited Student Exception
A student-athlete may transfer and play immediately if he or she met the following conditions at the first institution:
  • The student-athlete was not recruited according to the NCAA’s definition of recruiting;
  • The student-athlete never received an athletic scholarship; and
  • The student-athlete did not practice or compete at all in athletics at the original school except for one 14-day period (i.e. a tryout).
One-time transfer exception: If you transfer from a four-year school, you may be immediately eligible to compete at your new school if you meet ALL the following conditions:
  • You are transferring to a Division II or III school, or you are transferring to a Division I school in any sport other than baseball, men's or women's basketball, football (Football Bowl Subdivision) or men’s ice hockey. If you are transferring to a Division I school for any of the previously-listed sports, you may be eligible to compete immediately if you were not recruited by your original school and you have never received an athletics scholarship.
Recruited: If a college coach calls you more than once, contacts you off campus, pays your expenses to visit the campus, or in Divisions I and II, issues you a National Letter of Intent or a written offer of financial aid, you are considered to be recruited. In Division I, a written offer of financial aid to attend summer school before full-time enrollment does not mean you have been recruited.

I have seen nothing official on the S&C coach for this staff, but this would appear to be a pretty good indicator that Drew Wilson is sticking around in that role:

FootballStaff Scoop is not always plugged into program minutia, but they do not list Wilson as being confirmed on the staff, either.

Pretty sure it was confirmed a couple weeks ago that Katie Bason and Drew Wilson were sticking around.

Starting to think Da Prato is going to get the bump to full time TE coach.

Unsure of his coaching chops, but he is does seem to be an active and persistent recruiter.

From his CU bio:

College Player:
2000 New Mexico Highlands QB
2001 Chabot CA C.C. QB
2002-2003 UL-Monroe QB

College Coach
2004-2005 UL-Monroe (GA)
2006 UL-Monroe (Dir of Operations / Recruiting Coordinator)
2007-2012 Sacramento State (WR Coach + added ST Coordinator 2010-2012)
2013-2015 Montana State (TE coach & ST Coordinator)
2016-2018 Colorado (Dir of Quality Control - Offense)

When he has filled in during staff changes as an on-the-road recruiter, his areas have been: Dallas-Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Northern California, Southern California, Seattle and the Kansas Junior Colleges.

Still only 36 or 37 years old.

Yeah that is highly unlikely. An analyst from the prior staff being elevated to an on field position by a coach he has no familiarity with would be a head scratcher.

A year ago I would have been very happy with that hire. Now I am hoping for more.
The TE spot should be one of our top recruiting coaches.
Unless DePrato comes in on the cheap and we can hire two coaches with big recruiting upside, I’d be disappointed.

The support staff folks are popular with the players. It's a solid group. Gonna be interesting to see who is ultimately retained and how their titles/ roles might change.

I've been meaning to post this as a reference to see how it changes before the 2019 season:

Appreciate the info Nik, but you could have just put "everywhere" instead of listing areas individually.:)

I suspect upgrades (and expansion!!) are coming to this group. At the very least, I expect a substantial overhaul to the way their activities are structured and managed. They do things differently down South.

47 interns worked overnight on Fridays amassing highlight clips for the coaches to use as part of SM or e-mail contacts on Saturday morning before game day activities. Nice way for a recruit to wake up.

Thank you.

Suspect they get substantial support from shared services such as Nutrition and Wellness, Video, Academics, etc.

Oh yeah. There are also positions within the AD.

Check out the size of their AD - particularly the Senior Staff, Athletic Training/ Sports Medicine, Georgia Bulldog Club and Student Services at this link: https://georgiadogs.com/staff.aspx

There is so much work to be done at CU to take the operation up to a championship level. I truly believe that the vision of RG is to build something like what UGA has which, like the Champions Center & IPF, will allow CU to compete on that level while also being smartly & efficiently designed to fit the needs at CU.
