End of the Oregon era would be fine, too.
A bit threadstarter happy for a noob?
You have to wonder if he's got too much of a nice guy culture developing. Because, I mean, he is a nice guy. If he doesn't have some assistants who will put a boot in the ass, it's going be a trainwreck in Eugene.
Meh. Longstanding policy that we don't give a damn about post count as long as someone is funny, cool and/or knows his ****.
And that newbs get hazed.
Losses = hot seat. Wins = no hot seat. That tends to be how sports go outside of Boulder.
3-2 in BCS bowls
1-1 in the Rose Bowl
0-1 in the BCS MNC game
Good history but not great in this era. And with no natty to their record they ain't won sh-t to be talking like they're bored of the Rose Bowl. Respect the program and respect the conference. Now they look silly (and the unis help).
At least under Chip the team had an attitude that gave them a chip on their shoulder and I never had to worry about that team quitting. Under Helfrich all this team has done is regress and become soft. I hope he is gone after this season no matter what happens from here on out. Sadly I don't see the team winning the Civil War and hell they might even lose whatever pathetic bowl game they make it too.
That's how we tell whether they're cool or funny. This isn't the place for the thin-skinned or humorless.
**** you, Yellow Shirt!
There you go nik! I was worried you were going soft.
Yellow Shirt: At least have a cool name like "Golden Boy."
I think they end up winning the Civil War easily after the wake-up that was todays game. I agree with your point about Chip's teams. I think the winds of entitlement have been blowing in Eugene and things are changing from innovative coaching motivating 3 star talent and putting them in a position to succeed and now that the O is the hip place to be for higher ranked recruits they are getting spoiled by the facilities and attire and calling W's because of the name on their jersey. Mark Helfrich doesn't want a Mack Brown label by being the nice guy who recruits and has more talent than he knows what to do with but can't toughen them up to play with the hard-nosed teams at all.
Chip left with his "legend" status still intact.
Even with a lot of talent it is rarely a good idea to follow someone who is a legend in the minds of the fanbase. Credit goes to the guy who is gone and blame is all yours.
This is not to say that Helfrich is a good coach but few guys have done well taking over in situations like he did.
Just proves Kelly is a damn good coach.
Agreed, the shirt is a douche. I'm going to have to hut and run. Have sitting and a dinner reservation. Pile on. I'll be back on later, and I'll be drunk. I'll be hazing myself whike I work through plate of overated salmon.
Stay calm and pile on ass holes
Jonathan Martin free zone.
Flash in the pan becomes all show no go.
A fancy joint that has DirecTv, or a sports bar that takes reservations and serves Salmon? Either way, I'd be careful.
Enjoy the 30+ mile drive.
Perhaps Yellow Shirt is Martin, and he's pretending to be a Buffs fan to go incognito.
That's a nice Buff head bro. Wonder what happened to the big one up at El Rancho after they closed down?
You tell em old timer.
Worst case scenario for Helfrich and Oregon. They may end up with 2 losses and everybody will consider it a complete failure and question the decision to promote him to HC. Pitchforks were already out on the post-game radio show today.
March 2011. "Ah yeah, I've waited 32 months for this moment."
You worry about where you hope to get your head from, and I'll not worry about where I get mine.
Okl? I'm not sure where I ever said I'm an old timer. I lurked for a year before creating an account, and if you want to call almost 3 years a noob, so be it. IDGAF.
Way to deflectt that you're a bit quick to start new threads.
No, I just know when to add to threads that already address issues, rather than start new, unnecessary threads prior to driving 30 miles to watch tv for dry fish.
BTW, well done.
Was never impressed with Oregon.
