Bohn officially confirms the facilities announcement is coming in September

RT @SeanGNiehoff: New Folsom video boards will be installed 2 weeks after the #BolderBoulder. Still working on sound options. #CUbuffs

Bohn: "CU must be more aggressive in the market place."

Bohn: "We are not building an intensity of interest that is big enough"

I wish someone would leak some of the plans (with pictures) that they have.

Facilities review includes Folsom, Coors, Balch and areas around the football stadium. #Buffs #cubuffs

I think I may be looking forward more to the facilities announcement than I am to the football season itself.

Sean Niehoff: CU is looking at further expansion of Coors Event Center to expand weight room, S&C, team meeting rooms and will also house lacrosse.
The Keg will not be ignored.

Great News!! I can totally wait til September if it looks like its really going to happen

I'm confused (and not for the first time).
Are these the same facilities Class of 2012 recruits were told about?
The same facilities (to the NE of Folsom) we saw mockups for two months ago?
Wasn't the announcement supposed to come during spring ball? Then May? What changed the timetable?

If the reason for the delay is to have everything in order before announcing, what will take place between now - when it apparently isn't a certainty - and September to make it a reality?
The flipside to this question being: Then, if you are confident that you will have everthing lined up in September, why not announce it now??

He wants EVERYTHING to be ready to go, no question marks left, so to minimize the backlash from the academics who hate football.

Okay, I'll buy that.
But the question then remains: What will happen between now and September to clear everything up?
Or ... will we get to September, and hear that there will be an announcement in December??

I'm guessing getting all the permits, approval, etc. There will be announcement in September.

1) Definitely more fund raising. Finalization of the big gift.
2) paperwork on bonds (AZ reported that the gift may "only" be 50 mil and the rest is other donations and bond financings)
3) Complete finalization of all architectural plans including needed certification and passage by all relevant governmental bodies.
4) Trustee approval so that there is NOTHING that can be done by anyone but get ready for the shovels.

he wants it shovel ready day 1... that means permits contracts and everything ready to go

az is wrong... it will be 3 people covering the 250 mil +

There were some pics released a few months ago of a practice facility NE of Folsom. I'm sure that was just a preliminary model though, if it was even official at all. Montana just referenced them in one of his posts above too, but damm if I can remember which thread they were in. And yes I'm too lazy to look.

actually i heard from someone that its the old model from the tharp project and it will be better than that

I wouldn't be surprised if there is also some sort of sponsoring/naming rights deal in the works too. I remember there was that "Frontier Airlines" pic someone posted on this board a while ago.

So, basically the exact opposite of the lammies plan. I wonder which method will prove successful...

Kind of like the Catholics do it, shouldn't there be some sort of intermediary when 'Tini wants to talk to Montana?

here is what I think.

yes these are the same facilities the class of 2012 was told about?
I personally think those are really old mock-ups and we should see something similar coming out in September. We are pretty limited on what we can do and where things can go.
tini already answered why the timetable changed, waiting for money, waiting for architects, waiting for environment impact stuff, who knows.
It is not being announced now mainly because the money isn't there right now.
