College GameDay for UW

They have 0 qualms with Herbstreit in the booth at the horseshoe,...

BS. Klatt has called our games before...his co hosts treased him about it but he did fine. These guys are pros...they're not gonna call a game like a homer. D'oh!
One of those three majored in broadcasting at a high quality journalism school that taught old fashioned journalism values.

The other two did not. (Not saying their educations were any less valuable, just that they were different and transferred a different set of core values).

I really think it's as simple as that. For Fowler, it probably would feel like he was betraying the values taught to him at CU. And if that's the way he feels, there's nothing wrong with it.

There's 2 ranked-vs-ranked matchups on the schedule for week 4, OK State-TCU and UCLA-Stanford despite Stanford's loss last night. PSU-Iowa is also a good possibility. These 6 teams should all win next week. One other game to keep an eye on is Mississippi State hosting LSU next week and if MSU were to upset LSU then the MSU-UGA game on the 23rd would become a candidate.

Not disagreeing with your analysis, but I involuntarily yawned as I read PSU-Iowa.

I don't think we have a very good chance. Even though Stanford lost, both schools have substantial name recognition and I think nationally it will be recognized as more of a marque match up. TCU / Okie Lite would have a better chance IMO as well. We'll need some help. Like Luko, I think our best shot would be the USC game, but we've got a lot of winning to do between now and then.

I imagine ESPN really wants to go to Stillwater for Bedlam.

It's not unprecedented for them to go to one place twice in one season, they went to Clemson twice a few seasons ago. And if they both keep winning Bedlam is shaping up to be a monster game.

If we managed to get into the rankings this week, I would feel better about it. Now, I kind of doubt it will happen.

Just win the game, then beat UCLA and set up an epic showdown in November against USC with two teams ranked in the top ten.

USC game is possible. Will need to be no more than a 1 loss team and have USC stay in the Top 5.

Gameday would obviously be great, but I also think it is nice that we can pretty much guarantee Washington and UCLA will be national TV games.

That will kick at 8 at night.....so nobody on the east coast will see them. This conference's lack of TV bandwidth is atrocious

Have to assume that FSU Clemson game will be big.

Francois out for the year could mean FSU is slightly warm garbage, though.

Yeah, USC will have to be top 5 (likely), and CU might have to be a top 20 team.

Our offense is going to have to man up quite a bit, but if we can split the upcoming UW/UCLA games, I can see us winning every other game prior to USC leaving us at 9-1 going into that week, surely that's worthy of somewhere in the teens at least?

But still, Clemson FSU is pretty huge and a rivalry game.

The real kick in the teeth will be if Gameday goes to Furd instead. That stupid UCLA game against Aggy raised UCLA's profile. Can't say I blame ESPN though. Its not like our offensive play thus far has given them any confidence that UW will be a tight game.

Will be going up against:

FSU at Clemson
TCU at Oklahoma
UGA at Auburn
Notre Dame at Miami
Iowa at Wisconsin

Notre Dame at Miami is so so likely to be the place on that weekend!!! Remember Catholics v Convicts, and it is in Miami after the Hurricane gets cleaned up.

I was thinking that the USC game had a chance - if we took care of business - but I didn't know about all the competition that weekend.

My thought would have to be that we're not getting gameday this year. ****ing Western Michigan.....
