Colorado vs USC Game

Was that a horse collar tackle on Lewis? Is that a thing anymore?

Terrible sequence after the first down. Bad pass, up the middle, sack. Sigh.

First down. **** throw by Lewis. Run for no gain. Sack. Punt.

improvement?
Definitely improvement. Lewis is 1/2 for 9 yards and a -9 sack on 3 pass attempts. Even better than last week's improvement that KD praised in his presser. At this rate, we may have an offense that crosses midfield multiple times in a half at some point this year.

Do we have other runs in the playbook than up the middle? Maybe some play action from under center?

OSU ran for over 300 yards against USC last week. I think it was reasonable to try not to get cute with the run game to see what we could do going hat-on-hat. The problem is the result we saw.

Really bad spot in that third down. His knees were down and then he fell forward. Oh well.

The problem is they just load the box since we can’t even threaten to pass

There are a couple things recently invented by progressive offensive coordinators. Pre-snap motion to shift defenses & identify man or zone coverage + play action (faked handoff) prior to the QB throwing to freeze LBs and safeties or even catch a cornerback flat footed.

This type of offensive creativity hasn't made its way to Boulder yet.

Zero pressure. Zero.

Strategy appears to be to keep our O off the field as much as possible. Hope for FG attempt, which might be our best chance to get a defensive score.
