Fernando Lovo hired as new CU AD

Boy! You’re really pissed!!

Correct!! He shat all over us, as he does again and again. I don't think it is just Prime, but CU oriented in general. Stirring up sh** for clicks. Can't believe our HT newspaper (DP = Daily Camera) puts up with this garbage. Last night with a few beers, it was probably dumping ice-water glasses and maybe spit on his shoes/face. Today, it would be tongue lashing and a public belittling intended to make him cry. When he is around the players, he best be on the lookout for the rouge ice-water bucket.

I was pissed about to throw out a rant to DP, a cross between these two guys:

"garbage, and the editor that printed it is garbage..."

'Sean Keeler is who we thought he was' ... fat garbage and I don't want to let him off the hook.

I did not know where to post this. I was thinking of starting a "Sean Keeler Hater" or "F Sean Keeler" thread, however we have so many threads, so I'll leave that to the Mods. Did anyone see the "hit piece" that he dropped in the Denver Post yesterday. The attachment is not from the DP, as I will not give them one dime. Keeler shat all over our university and football team the moment Lovo was introduced. To say he is a hater is an understatement and we have known that for a long time. It is almost like he is the ornery kid in the sandbox, jealous of all the other kids having fun saying someone stole his toy. Obviously, he was just jealous that things may be turning around for CU's football fortunes and needed to lash out. He cannot stand any positive coverage of CU and will do anything and everything to throw cold water on a good time.

I'm sure someone may respond that they know him personally and he is decent guy or freedom of the press, but he has gone too far. It is time to encourage him relocate elsewhere. He can go cover penguins, polar bears or whale blubber (the guy is fat like jello) at the North or South Pole. I call on the Denver Post to fire him immediately. I ask that the Universities to limit his access, as much as they legally can. I ask all the fans, alums, players, admins and organizations whether they are CU, Bronco, CSU, Air Force, UNC, DU, other pro sports teams including our rivals to just boycott this guy into absolute oblivion. Shame him, give him no interviews, and nothing to write except that he is "unwelcome." If you see him at a sporting event, start the chant: "Poor Sean Keeler, poor Sean Keeler." If you see him in a public place and feel like it, just call him out and make him uncomfortable via ridiculing him until he departs. Same goes for his peer journalists, as you police your own industry so expel him. If you own a business big or small, kindly say, "please leave, I/we cannot to serve you given that your repugnance," but do so in accordance with the law. I generally support freedom of the press, however there is no place for petty and petulant journalist children like him. In short, he needs to relocate.

If Prime or another coach wins us a Natty, give him the Deion treatment which Deion gave to Tim McCarver. For those that may not know in 91-92, Prime played baseball until the NFL season started. He was playing for the Altana Falcons and Braves. In 91' he did not play in playoffs, but in 92' he did both without even being under contract for the playoffs. 92' was his best regular season played: in 97 games, led the NL with 14 triples and batted .304 with 26 stolen bases, eight home runs and 28 RBIs. Advanced stats weren’t around then, of course, but he had a 130 OPS+ and a 3.2 bWAR. McCarver was very critical of Deion doing this and repeatedly called him out as a "stunt." Throughout, McCarver was a very respected ex-player and commentator, however he crossed the line. Deion incensed at his comments, after they won the NLCS got back at McCarver by dousing him with 4 buckets of water during the clubhouse celebration. Then he played in all four games of World Series (they were swept by Toronto) hitting .533; slugged .667, 4 runs and stole 5 bases. McCarver demanded meeting with MLB VP, Braves and others only to be rebuffed, however his fellow journalists reeled McCarver back in for going overboard.

P.S.--if you are worried about CU's deficit this year, peruse https://knightnewhousedata.org/ and check out the financial situation of some other P-4 teams. UCLA's 2024 deficit was $51.9M; Rutgers $41.6M, Ohio State $40.2M, CAL $29.8M (CAL AD has run in the red every year for over a decade)...

I think you are overreacting. The article was more about the situation with college athletics with NIL, transfer portal and House settlement than a hit on CU. To ignore the hurdles for CU to compete is unreasonable….

I don't recall CU having many Hispanics in highly visible positions. I'm hoping that may open some fund-raising doors. Being simplistic, but corporate sponsorship of colleges is growing and I can see changing from Folsom to Modelo Field. Fred's had his time in the sun, he wouldn't mind.
Lovo is 6'5" or so and from the pictures, his wife may be 6' too. Pardon the sexism, but she carries herself like the former ballerina she is and I'd makesureshe attended every fundraising event.

I’ve oddly never been, but I hear it’s overrated. Imagine that being your first dinner out in Boulder with so many great choices. I guess Jay is a big donor for us though

I’m sure it was advised that he show is face and eat there early on in his tenure. Then he can put it behind him and simply thank Pasta Jay in press conferences.
Who was the coach here who got fired and during his last PC his second sentence was thanking Pasta Jay?

As a former employee of Jay, I wouldn't eat there if I was in NYC. But it's really good for Boulder. Full of flavor, a mess of cheese, hard to go wrong! Gondolier is next to my parents' home, so I eat there whenever in town. Toss up between them. The fancy spots downtown are a step above if you're operating on expense account or a few tax brackets above mine.

(and not sure if it's around anymore but the Jay's in Moab HITS after a long day out hiking or biking in Utah... dining is so relative to location and exhaustion!)

Does Gondolier still have 'all you can eat' Spaghetti on Tuesday's. It was only $2.99. Went there as a kid every week cuz we were poor AF

Idk how Frasca has a Michelin star, seems very bleh to have a star

The pretentious fart-sniffing of Michelin places deeply annoys me, but this spot doesn’t have the food/service wow factor to make up for it like a Single Thread or similar does
