Washington was 28th or 29th in votes when we beat them.. I said it in another thread, they refuse to put us in the top 25
The bizarre one is BPI. We beat the same teams as Utah last week. They moved up 4 spots and we dropped 7. Do they not get a "home court altitude" penalty? Also, I thought you were supposed to get a positive modifier to your results if you weren't at full strength?

THE BUFFALOES: Colorado is 11-2 overall and 2-0 in the Pac-12 Conference after sweeping Washington and Washington State at home last week. The Buffaloes start conference play 2-0 for just the fourth time in the Pac-12 era and first since 2014-15. Colorado's 11-2 mark overall is its best since hitting the same mark in 2019-20

The Buffaloes have won six-straight and seven of their last eight. The six-game winning streak is the program's best since a six-game run late in the 2020-21 Tournament season. The win over Washington State gave Colorado a perfect 6-0 record in December, the first time going undefeated in the 12th month since 2005-06 (also 6-0).

Colorado is one of the top all-around shooting teams in the country, ranking in the top 12 nationally in all three percentage categories: overall field goal, 3-point and free throws. The Buffaloes are fourth in the nation in overall shooting at 51.8 percent, rank sixth in 3-point percentage (.408) and 12th from the line (.780).

Colorado is one of only two programs in the nation top 12 of all three categories (through games of Dec. 29) along with Miami (Fla.) which the Buffaloes defeated in Brooklyn on Dec. 10. The Buffaloes lead the Pac-12 Conference in all three as well.

The Buffaloes also sport top 30 marks nationally in rebound margin (12th, +11.2), assists (13th, 18.4 apg), scoring offense (25th, 84.2 ppg), scoring margin (27th, +15.4) and win percentage (19th, .846).
...

ABOUT THE WILDCATS: No. 10 ranked Arizona is 10-3 overall and 1-1 in the Pac-12 after splitting its road trip in the Bay Area. The Wildcats are 2-3 in their last five contests after starting 8-0 and rising to No. 1 in the national polls. Arizona leads the Pac-12 at 92.3 points per game, shooting 49.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Wildcats have allowed opponents 73.4 points and 42.3 percent from the field.

Guard Caleb Love leads Arizona at 17.4 points per game and is tied for the team lead in 3-pointers with 27. Center Oumar Ballo tops the Wildcats in rebounding (8.2 rpg) and field goal percentage (.637) while averaging 13.2 points per contest. Pelle Larsson averages 12.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

Whelp, we ****ed. This guy is making 4 3s on 7 or less shots. Add in the fact they just had their letdown game and lost to stanford at home? No ****in way they are dropping two in a row. With our guys out, this is likely to get ugly. Ugh.

Boswell leads the Wildcats with 4.2 assists per game, and he also sports a .403 3-point percentage despite going 1-for-7 from long range in UA’s loss at Stanford on Sunday. Boswell goes into Thursday’s game against Boyle and the Buffs having shot just .222 (6-for-27) on 3-pointers in the past five games

Your dedication to your craft is impressive.

But you’re not wrong.

Yep, we're boned. I think Eddie has already fouled out. Ballo is going for 35/20, at least. Might as well not even play the game.

This is why others should stay out of my lane. You just broke time bro. Also, you cannot avoid doom. It is best to face it with equanimity. Play the game, take the pain.

It would be very difficult to un-doom the doom that awaits. Maybe a sudden outbreak of the plague amongst the ‘zona roster or something.

See above comment about staying out of my lane. Your lane is not doom. It's more along the lines of looking at the world in a way that fits your preconceived biases without supporting evidence.

Somehow, some way, Tad will find a path to victory tonight.
Getting our first win in Tucson (at least, one not stolen by refs) would be a big, positive plot point in a story of Tad going scorched earth on his way out of the Pac 12. It fits a glorious narrative that we would all cherish forever. The sweetness would remind us of the births of our children and the days we finally convinced our wives to marry us.

That's why it's not going to happen. This kind of narrative does not fit the Colorado program, especially in basketball. Even when a truly great player and group arises (MK$ senior year, example) they are stunted by fate. First they run into a program whose head coach sold his soul for a tournament run in oregon state then they get matched up against FSU in the 2d round.

That is us. Put your hopes to bed and let them sleep through the painful flagellations we will endure tonight.

Biggest key in my eyes is keeping Arizona cold from 3.

Kylan Boswell is 3/19 in their 3 losses from 3 and 24/48 from 3 in their 10 wins.

Have to defend the 3 point line, I’m not super worried about their bigs, let Ballo and Keshad get theirs.

No, the appropriate narrative is a win tonight but a loss at Cal next week.

We’ll my lane is to give a long-winded break-down of reasons we DO have chance for W:

-Cats started out playing great, connected D; but their perimeter D consistently lacking recently. 🦬 could seriously EAT at 3 Pt line!

-Yes, I like our starting Bigs defensively on Cats Bigs, including Harley’s toughness on Johnson. But Cats bench size & depth will need steady D from Luke/Diop/Hurlburt. May be game Dak gets to leave his mark on?

-Cats big guard Pelle Larson & bench guard KJ Lewis’s toughness match-up’s that I’m most concerned with. The other 3 guard rotation we can match, especially if Ruffin has an expected break-out game?

-If CU wins Rbding & D battle, & shoot’s higher percentage from 3-we should be right there. Also need to start strong, to take home crowd out of potentially high-scoring game?

PS: Andy Katz rates 🦬 18th & Arizona 30th in weekly Power-36 ratings below; which I agree with, if based on how strong both teams playing recently! GO BUFFS!

Road game and Stanford hit everything they took from three, but I agree with you.

If we play them tough and lose by 10 or so, I'll take it.

Great! I will look forward to the multiple texts from my Dad complaining about him, ultimately ending with a text telling me he has the game on mute.

My step-mother-in-law (who is in town over the New Year from Tucson - so will watch the game on TV instead of going to it) said she can't stand Walton during the Stanford game. I hope he goes on extra detours tonight!
